Poisoned rose is almost as clueless as you, Raja. Neither of you know your
ass from an Aminor. You make the perfect couple; endless boring paragraphs
of anal-ytical bullshit about subjects neither of you have any real
experience in.

Post a poll on that: Who's the more irritating
psudeo-intellectual-snob-music-critic?

Raja or Rosie?

I have nothing in common with poisoned rose, the armchair critic who
gets his "opinions" from indie sites.

Both of you have lots in common: a incredibly annoying conceit, a
condescending tone of dismissal towards anyone who dares disagree with your
obnoxious holier-than-thou idiocy, all impacted with zero practical
knowledge or experience in the real given subject of discussion.

Both of you spend your entire lives criticizing rock bands from a throne
built of hapless ignorance and convenient ideology.

The only justice here would be if both you butt-plugs suddenly grew spines,
joined bands, and tried to release your own original music, and then
critiqued each other.

You guys are crazy. You might not like PR but he's nothing at all
like Raja, has nothing in common with him. I'm flabbergasted that
anyone would think so. I can see how someone might detect a whiff of
condescension, snobbery and even nastiness in some of his stuff (I'm
not saying I feel that way) but he's far from musically ignorant or
close-minded or an idiot.

P.R. is just an ignorant asshole,
He does know his music, but that is it.
There is one thing that I hate is people who think
they are better than anybody else.

Russia and America.

Yeah but that's just personality..that's why I call him Guru.

Raja however is a plain and simple pain in the neck. Raja has the
personality of a wasp.

Bullshit. His classical playing on the song is amazing. He does not
play a billion notes per hour like Emerson or Wakeman or Lord or
Banks. But that is not needed here anyway. His playing is elegant and
soulful and true to the nature of compositions. I would equate him to
a keyboardist like Rick Wright. As a matter or preference, I prefer
him over Rick Wright by a slight margin.

Who cares how simple it is. He came up with a creative idea. In spite
of being a Beatles fan (none of them were virtuosos by any means), you
have a douchy attitude towards simple and elegant compositions. Thats

I won't... the playing on the song is truly remarkable and amazing to
hear to. I have heard classical compositions by Mozart and Beethoven
and Bach and this one is on par with some of their best. Many
classical composers had an entire orchestra to be able to paint the
same picture. The fact that Jonesy can pull off the same vibe alone is
truly remarkable.

You must be really tone deaf to ignore the amazing keyboards on this.
No Quarter is a very moody song and it is difficult to execute because
if you stray away from the feel, you will lose the audience. In this
performance, Jonesy is able to incorporate and improvise on quite
unrelated classical pieces (in the middle section) while somehow
making it work with the original song. And lets not forget the
improvisation on guitar by Page that also goes with the song very
well. He doesnt ruin Jonesy classical pieces, he makes his
improvisations work with Jonesy's. If it was a Metallica guitarist he
would have brashly ruined it. They had amazing chemistry. A truly
great band.

Now if you doubt the chemistry between Page and Jonesy listen to this.
How the mandolin and acoustic guitar blend in together... this is just
beautiful. Also look out how Jonesy sneaks some bass pedals with his
feet towards the end.

"Connoisseur" LOL

neither of you two retards have the slightest clue about the actual
mechanics of the music itself. Its the 500 pound gorilla in your fantasy
palace. Both of you two idiots go on and on about criticizing rock bands,
yet, neither of you have actually PLAYED IN ONE. Neither of you have any
music online of your own, for people to put your comments in perspective.

And when anyone puts it in your faces both of you spew out the same worn
out excuses and denials.

ANYBODY CAN HAVE AN OPINION.

Then again, theres the learned, experienced opinion of the person who has
actually done the subject at hand, and then theres the armchair
quarterback, who has not, and instead, demands credibility in the subject
because he has "Watched a lot of other people do it".

Both of you are retards. I wouldnt give two hoots in hell about what either
of you say about any kind of music.

For all your insults and abuse, you have no power in this. Nor does
anyone else. We can all post whatever and whenever we like, so why get
so upset about it all?
Raja is repetetive and insubstantial and a bit of a joke. PR it seems
can be aggressive to some but to the best of my knowledge never with
me. Maybe that's because I try to offer reasoned contributions (about
the music mostly, but also about some of the OT topics) and I don't
resort to foul abuse. You should try it. Trouble is, largely, all our
reputations go before us...

Neither do you.

I'm sick of both these cretins, Raja and Rosie, and anybody who acts like
their OPINION is THE TRUTH, especially geeks who never bothered to play the
game.

If that opinion annoys you, feel free to introduce me to your killfile.

I been thrown outta better places than this.

I can see how his organ playing can be compared to Wright and I'd
prefer either to any of the others you mention. But PR is correct in
saying that this isn't stellar playing (my words). I think he's more
impressive as a bassist than keyboards FWIW. Have you heard him play
on the song New Fang by Them Crooked Vultures, the new group with
himself, Grohl (from Foo Fighters), and a couple of guys from Queens
of the Stone Age? It's very exciting playing. Of course, it's
current/modern music so you may not care for it.

The performance in question was really nice and I'm glad to have
watched it, make no mistake. Personally I think Led Zeppelin was a
great band, monumental in import and influence. None of this negates
the fact that everybody thinks you are a complete idiot and would
prefer not to hear from you again.

I am not like PR. I don't criticize rock bands on their technical
skills. I criticize a rock band, if I find them immensely boring...
like Coldplay and Radiohead.

I never said JPJ is a flashy technically gifted keyboardist like
Wakeman or Emerson or Lord or Banks. What I said he is a very good
keyboardist and I prefer him over all of them.

Why am I an idiot? Because I have strong opinions on music?

How do I know why, was your mom drinking or on drugs when she was

So that's perfectly fine, why can't you just leave it at that and not
bother and annoy everybody constantly?

Oh you are bothered by my posts. You need to get a life or go fuck
yourself, if you get bothered by some random post on some newsgroup.

Again it's not just me dude, it's everyone. So really it would just
be more practical for you to leave. It doesn't bother you that
there's never been (to my knowledge) a post from anyone showing any
support or respect for you, or indicating anybody wants you around?
It's sad and funny at the same time.

JPF is a crapy key board player.

But, most are.

My hero is Emerson, the best?

He's an old friend. Jools Holland.

I've known him for decades.

We go back.

Jools Holland and the Millionaires!

1981.

And I knew the boy from Squeeze.

Way back.

He's my age. We're both 51

I don't want to poison your mind, but I have enjoyed ELP for 40 years.

Little Rock Get Away. Jazz. I knew Mo Koffman.

Good to meet a friend.

Fuck, I am a key board player.

But, my old friend is better than you.

He plays with Styx.

He's a fellow Canadian.

But, here's a good one for you.

What woman who plays for Roxy Music is better than Eno?

Violin, keys and guitar?

Hint. She's Scots.

I must say gents, I'm really enjoying this infantile flame war.

I especially like the cross-posting to Beatles and Who newsgroups. Nice
touch.

Its encouraging to see there is still life in some newsgroups, healthy
debate doesent always have to be nicey-nicey cordial. Love the way this
particular one has degenerated into personal attacks. Stylish.

Keep up the good work.

p.s. it amazes me that anyone can find fault with Zepp, but its opened my
eyes somewhat. They werent flawless, but they werent shit either. It's kind
of cool that they could fuck up just like everyone else, and they did
'borrow' a lot of material from old blues guys. Still the greatest band in
the history of this planet so far if you ask me tho. JMO.

And thats all matter. They were the GODs of rock.
Jimmy Page = Guitar GOD
John Paul Jones = bass GOD
Robert Plant = the voice GOD
John Bonham = the drum GOD

Stolen or not stolen, they were the greatest rock band ever and most
of their songs were the best rock songs of all times.

I like some of their songs off their double album and
"Houses of the Holy".....but I dislike their earlier
albums and their last album. I like these albums
way better than Pink Floyd...who I don't listen

Isnt it about time you stated that it wasnt worth arguing with people, and
left, one more time, and promised to never return..... only to indeed
return a few months later, starting up all your silly nonsense all over
again?
