Grohl should tour with Zep!

touch Bonzo's drumming but why not tour with Dave Grohl on drums? It seems like
a no-brainer. Grohl hits 'em harder than anyone and is the BEST drummer alive.

After posting this I remembered Cozy Powell, who was always seen as a fully
fledged member of the many bands he moved between. Unfortunately he's no
longer around to sit on the drumstool. If Rush weren't still going strong
I'd suggest Peart. Getting back to my original post, I think it would be
more important for them to get someone who could inject their own
originality and ideas into new material rather than go for a Bonham
soundalike, hence my suggestion of a talented unknown.

No, not at all, I was just hypothesising. I also very much doubt a reunion
will happen. I agree Plant would have to limit himself vocally compared to
his 70's heyday, he can still perform though can't he?. JPJ's exclusion,
that was a damn shame, possibly some minor disagreement or slight between
them that fizzled on for years and culminated in him not getting a call to
join up. Who would be the guy in charge if they were to reform though?,
that's interesting to ponder. JPJ tends to get the most critical acclaim
these days... Would they be able to write/perform together happily on an
equal footing ? I think Page is missing people to bounce new ideas off. I
think his creativity would take off if he wrote new music.
I don't want to see another Black Crowes / P&P type deal. As Howldog says
below it's probably best to leave the back catalog alone unless they can
really do it justice. I may well have to settle for future solo efforts
though.
The age thing, yes, but look at the Stones. I think people come away from
Stones gigs pretty satisfied. Not being a big fan though, I'm not sure
whether they are still writing good songs or if they do a greatest hits set
(no offence intended to Stones fans...)

Clapton, Beck, Van Halen, Nugent, Santana, etc. produced in the last
ten years that had better overall guitar tracks than
Coverdale/Page(1993). As for as that concerned name one record by
Clapton, Beck, Van Halen, Nugent, Santana, etc. ever produced that had
better guitar tracks than Physical Grafitti. The depth, scope and
diversity of guitar work on that record is far beyond what other players
have acomplished.

Don't know it personally but having checked its whereabouts I'd say it
was a typical 30's semi-detached house, and 50's/60's it would have been
a bit of a commuter-belt area. Typical habitat for the lesser-spotted
bank clerk, and temporary home to the parents of 80's yuppies.
Reasonably well-to-do, I would say. Epsom is quite poshe anyway :-)

In NYC they just find an area with alot of foot traffic and ask passerby for
quarters.
Some of the beggars in Europe are much more inventive. In an outdoor cafe in
France the women approached with infants in arms. They first asked me what
language I spoke and then proceeded to beg in that language.( I assume they
knew quite a few different languages). I got a whole story of how her husband
was fighting a war in Bosnia (I think) When I did not give her a handout she
cursed me in whatever language she spoke. Im relatively sure they were gypsies,
probably Romanian. Ive read an article on them describing how they make
themselves look dirty, put on rags, and even use makup or crutches to simulate
injury. There was also a boy who had a very conspicuous street corner to lay
on. He had on tattered rags and when he put his hand out he made the most
pathetic face. Very practiced. In Europe some of the kid beggars work together
as a group and then give the money to an adult who watches out for them. Crazy
shit. Crazy world. I never see children begging here in the states. I think the
authorities get involved asap and take them off the street.
