The concept of being "underrated" is generally meaningless, as I find
that bands underrated by the public tend to be overrated by critics,
and vice versa. You might as well make a list called "Bands I like
more than other people do."

Meanwhile, I was an honorary Detroit Wheel for a night, back in '93,
the cover band I worked with then was hired as his pick-up band for a
bar gig he here on Long Island - a memorable fun night it was. At a
rehearsal in the afternoon, Mitch seemed impressed with how we'd
really gotten our stuff together ahead of time and learned his whole
greatest hits album pretty accurately including the back-up vocals.
I still have an signed picture somewhere. (One of the opening bands on
the bill that night even called me later and hired me for a fill-in
gig.) Our band was called Switch, so it was Mitch and Switch that
night (and I was Rich from Mitch and Switch). Oh yeah, I remember the
night, does anyone remember this?, it was the two-hour final finale +
retrospective of Cheers and the hour-long finale of a really big
season of Seinfeld - one of the biggest-hyped nights of tv ever at
that time.....so even though it was a Thursdsay night, and there were
three bands playing, we couldn't even think of starting 'til all that
was done with, so we didn't go on with Mitch 'til I think 1 am. A
friend of mine video'd our whole set for me and I still have a copy,
still haven't gotten around to transferring it to digital form yet.
End of story! I'm sure I've told it before - you understand, I'm
getting old. But anyway I know this post was more interesting than
Raja's (and I know that's not saying much!).
