Top earners from "American Idol"

Carrie Underwood is coming off a $20 million year.
Forbes says that makes her the number-one earner of any contestant
from "American Idol" over the last 12 months or so.
The Forbes numbers are from May of last year to May of this year.
The two contestants who're tied for second on the Forbes list prove
you don't need to win Idol to be a winner.
Forbes says Chris Daughtry and Adam Lambert each earned $6 million
over the last year.
Fantasia Barrino is next with $4 million, followed by Jordin Sparks at
$3 million, Kelly Clarkson $2.5 mil, Jennifer Hudson $2 million, Kelly
Pickler $1.8 mil and Clay Aiken with $1.5 million.
Three Idols are tied with earnings of $1 million each over the last
year: Katharine McPhee, David Archuleta and David Cook.
Forbes based the earnings on an estimate of pretax income before
subtracting agent and manager fees.
