Hello kunks1,

You posted this request to alt.binaries.karaoke, the midi-karaoke
newsgroup. Although you may get a reply here, and we don't encourage
it for the problems these long files create for some of our members,
you'd have a better chance of a reply in alt.binaries.sounds.karaoke,
which is specifically for CD-G and MP3+G files.

Good hunting!

Alan

No, he (and you) posted it to alt.music.karaoke, the karaoke discussion
group.

This is the second time I've seen you send someone away saying this is a
MIDI group. IT IS NOT. It is a discussion group for all forms of karaoke,
though a pretty dead one. Maybe lingering messages like yours are one
reason it's so dead, though it's more likely that people simply prefer the
WWW style forums or don't know that Usenet is still alive and kicking
because their ISP no longer provides a news server.

Depends on whether he is asking if anyone knows a source where he can buy it
or if he's looking to download for free. If he's looking to buy it, this is
a proper place to ask if anyone knows a supplier that carries this
brand/series. If he's looking to download, this is not a binaries group for
CDG, MIDI, or anything else.

The best place to buy this is actually from the manufacturer's web site
(http://stage-stars.com/guysdolls.aspx). Few suppliers would carry it.
Those who sell it probably just have it drop-shipped from the manufacturer,
so cut out the middle man. No source for purchasing single tracks from this
label I know of.

As far as downloading it, it'll be hard to find; probably impossible. It's
a CD, not a CDG (no words) and that track has the guide vocals included.
People with this disk are mostly going to be those doing the play, not KJ's.
Even if a KJ has it, he's not going to have ripped the track with the vocals
included. But a standard MP3 of the song will serve the same purpose,
unless you are mistaken and really want track 19, the backing track alone.

Other karaoke companies that do include the words don't seem to include this
song on their "Guys and Dolls" disks. So if you're looking for a CDG or
MP3+G, I think you're SOL

Both iTunes and Amazon do have it available as a single MP3 track from
another company, both with and without the guide vocals. .

I don't do MIDI karaoke, so can't say if it's avalable in that format, but I
doubt it. Just not a popular song for anyone not involved in the production
of the play.

Hello Brian,

I apologize for any inconvenience.

I was wondering how my reply wound up in alt.music.karaoke. I guess it
was because the original poster posted to multiple newsgroups and
Agent, which I usually have set to warn me if that is the case, didn't
put up that warning. I'll check the settings.

On the matter of Guys and Dolls, if the poster was interested in a
particular track, I can only say that one of the regular posters to
alt.binaries.karaoke did create and post some of the songs, probably
the more popular ones. Since the original Broadway production
contained songs that were not in the movie version, and vice-versa,
there are some Guys and Dolls songs that could be considered obscure.
Thanks for your efforts.
