Regarding Mickey Mouses Birthday....

valuable airtime on the news announcing the birthday of an imaginary
rodent..."

I don't want to open up a can of worms here, or start a flame war. (I
think we are all mature enough to discuss anything here) but are you
saying that because Rob is gay, he is second place to Ripper?

I'm not gay, nor do I even pretend to understand the gay lifestyle.
However, I can't bring someones sexual preferences into consideration
when comparing their ability to sing.

Any thoughts???

I now hereby decree the end of all so called "comparisons" between KK
and Glenn, Halford and Owens, and for that matter, Ian Hill and Les
Binks!!! Cant we all just get along? Besides, I got Bekk's feathers all
ruffled when I called KK a peroxide womanizer! Long live free speech!

Before the split and the coming out I thought Rob was God - almost
literally. I blame him for the split, and since I'm homophobic I take
all the things that've happened since to heart. He's my scapegoat right
now.
I don't hate him or wish ill upon him, I just tend to place the blame
for the negative things that've happened to Priest on his shoulders.
Also, if he'd stop poseing as a slacker/alterna-dofus I'd have a bit
more respect for the man.

I can understand your feelings on these comparisons, but I think people
are just looking for other peoples views on these artists.

When someone says they like so and so better and bothers to explain why
it can often point out something you didn't know about that artist.

For example, Bekki's views on K.K. and Glenn. Glenn had a musical
background and was already in a somewhat locally sucessul band when he
was approached by Priest. (trivia question: anyone know the name of the
band?) he probably would have ended up successful sooner or later
anyway. K.K. on the other hand had a direct interest in a band that was
already named Judas Priest and wanted to be a part of it. So he worked
hard for it, got himself a guitar and learned how to play. Auditioned
for the band and we know have what is the Judas Priest of the 7's, 80's,
and 90's. he had no musical background. He had a dream. And it came
true. I knew this but never really looked at it that way before. Until I
read her views on it.

Funny thing is I always thought Rob it be the ultimate
frontman/singer/performer but after listening to Fight and Two along with
his negative comments about Priest and heavy metal I dont feel I miss his
presence in the band. What I do miss is a more melodic approach to Glenn
and KKs guitar playing. Its a pity that after fronting the greatest HM band
ever he has dissed the music style and squandered his considerable talents.

I feel EXACTLY the same way! He has squandered his talents and turned
his back on the very thing that made him famous!
