In Handel's two-act Italian drama, a darkly alluring cyclops makes a
nymph think twice about her beau. David Newman stars as Polifemo, the
scorned, raging giant in Handel's youthful take on the famous myth,
musically and dramatically distinct from his later English setting of
the same tale. With Laura Heimes as Aci and Lorie Gratis as Galatea.
Performed on Baroque instruments.
