longer, so Wild Strawberries..

But I guess this is "let's pretend" so I say Fiona Apple even though
it'd never happen. Most likley they'll pick someone like GVB who's a
rather unknown band. (At least to me.)
Jillian
Morcheeba does come to mind, however...
Wild Strawberries are, @ least in Canada (they are from Toronto, m'thinks),
but the lead singer of Sneaker Pimps left...

next week they are playing a festival in vienna with new radicals, heather
nova, suede and of course garbage and guess who's going to be there to see
them????
: O.K. many of you have seen Garbage live ( i have twice) . So my question
: is, if you got to pick Garbage's opening act for their next tour who
: would you pick???

GVSB again would be cool but I doubt that would happen.. I can't
really say because I can't think of a [good] band that would fit into the
show.

Howzabout Jason Nevins? Or DJ Qbert? Or, then again, would they overshadow
Garbage (even though Garbage kicks major ass)? Hmmm.....maybe Garbage
SHOULD play by themselves.......
They weren't that bad. They got a good enough reaction in Dublin anyway
(Maybe it was because the singer mooned the crowd).

Radiohead is too big to be an opener.

Same here. The pumpkins dont need to open for anyone. If you forgot - garbage
opened for them.
~Bjork
~Radiohead (love OK Computer !)
~Tori Amos
~Hole
~Smashing Pumpkins
~Republica (thats 4u Alex!!)
<i absolutely adore Adore, its a really good CD and I think the best they
released rivaled closely by Siamese Dream of course> maybe Love and Rockets
would be good, also Republica is absolutly Fabulosoe !! and Placebo would also
be great..... but i think Bjork and Radiohead would be the best, real head
turners ewwwww i think that came out wrong!...
now i feel incredibly dirty..... o well. n e way Tori Amos is for you Meave !!
joe
Tori Amos is an exception, though like the others, could sell out on her own.
so would really be a good opener but simply too popular.
Republica would be nice to see, but on some of their songs, they could
outdo Garbage with their faster songs and higher energy level.
I would like to see Hole, or Cake. Maybe Rancid, maybe Catherine Wheel.
Deftones would be nice. Beasties... hmm.
Suede is iffy. Transglobal Underground for a change. Gus Gus...
Scooter does rave style concerts unfortunately and Soundgarden is no more, not
that they could open either (too big). DJ Shadow would be neat.
Rollins Band. Oh yeah.

tonight!

Placebo and Moloko both suck.

you on Garbage concerts.

Republica's debut album was played over and over at the UK arena's last
January - before Moloko came on.
Perhaps they should've kept playing it!?..... Moloko yuk!!!
Dukester2
Ps....but Moloko's videos are quite good!
I really do not see this at all. Granted, i haven't seen Republica
live...maybe all their music changes and it actually sounds better...but i got
their album with 'Ready To Go' and it was surprisingly awful. The whole album
seemed thrown together..very choppy. the lyrics were quite banal....just
seemed amateurish to me.

I'm not joking. They are crap.

Oooh I'm not joking - what are you going to do about it? Gut me or shoot me?
Grow up.

At least I have a gender identity.

Perhaps you were playing the cd upside down? ;0)
Dukester2
ps are you the hip hop fan?(or was it Curve?)
If so that would explain everything.....

Sorry. My band will be opening for Garbage on the next tour.

..Thanks.. but my band is already kick-ass. We will be recording
our debut CD at Smart Studios. [in my dreams]

Don't worry about it Rosie.
This I-like-guys-in-skirts thing is probably just a phase you're going
thru.
When I was in my early teens I had a fetish for girls with beards but I
soon grew out of it ;0)
Get it?....grew out of it...like in beards.OK,suit yourself! :0(
btw are you seeing Placebo at V99?
Dukester2
I'm a huge Curve fan (Dean and Toni are GOD INCARNATE! heh heh...), but I
won't say they're better than garbage, who I also like a lot. I like curve
more, but I don't think they're better. If that distinction makes sense to
anyone... I dunno. BTW, what Curve albums have you heard, just out of
curiosity?
-derrick
Right now, I'm listening to: Mono, "High Life CD1"
and what you said made sense ;)

>yes i am. Are you going? Is anyone else from here going?
Yes I'm on a week-end ticket.
Hope to get lots of great pics of the bands too!
Look who's there.......Placebo,Stereophonics,Cardigans,Suede,The Manics,
Massive Attack(eat your heart out Tymon!) and lots lots more!
It's a shame Garbage ain't doing a UK festival - why not!!??

Ho-hum! Looks like I have to suffer through Woodstock this summer and
watch alanis again! (Be still my heart!)
Fat-boy Slim's gunna be there, tho! :>

I'm hearing a lot of rumours that Garbage are playing Reading, so don't give
up yet.
I just wish they'd play Ireland again.

>Come Clean and Doppleganger
Cuckoo has some really good stuff on it, too and there's a rare tape
of radio sessions that I copied off one of my friends: it's about half
and half previously recorded / unique tracks: very cool. Basically,
everything Toni and Dean have ever done is amazing.
I like both bands but I'm afraid Curve pip Garbage at the post for me:
just that bit darker... :)
Andy
There's this german band called Fruit... I heard someone saying that they
were the "german answer to Garbage"... yeah, sure :)
But anyway, I heard them "almost" live (it was a live show on TV), and
they're not bad! Their newest single is called Firewalker.
They'd make a good opening act!
