I suspect this was originally a vaudeville song.
Once I had a clothing store,
Business it was bed.
Asked my wife what to do;
This is what she said.
"Take a can from kerosine,
Spill it on the floor.
Take a metch; give a scretch;
Poof! No more clothing store."

My dad sings a similar song of a candy shop.

But it's all too close to home.
In the 1970s, the south Bronx of NYC burned down due to arson:
