i've just bought a double CD compilation of the Ian Gillan Band (it doesn't
have a title), it's mainly songs from the Ian Gillan Band/Gillan albums of
the late 70s+ , however one song on it "Monster in paradise" - i've never
heard of. It sounds like it's from the 60s, almost a bit Beatle-ish. Does
anyone know where this track comes from? It's very good btw

It appears on "Cherkazoo & other Stories" a compilation of unreleased
material that RPM Records released in 1992. All songs on the compilation
are said to be have been recorded between 1972 and 1974.

However, according to the liner notes, that particular sing did actually
make it to vinyl already then, on Purple Records, but with the band
Hard Stuff. Also funny is that according to the liner notes, on the
Hard Stuff release the song was credited to Gillian/Glover/Gustafsson,
but in the song listing for the Cherkazoo, the writer is given as
Cy Payne, whoever that is.
