This is for the three or four still here :)

So I guess the past week I've been listening to the two leaked tracks
quite a bit: Come Around and Cowboys.... I posted some thoughts a
while back (my other post is just a few down the list since no one
post here) and after giving the songs more time to sit in I decided to
post again because I've changed my mind a bit.

While I don't think these two songs represent the bands best work they
are both songs that grow on you. Since This Desert Life and Hard Candy
were both more transparent I guess I had gotten use to the bands new
form.

Cowboys has grown on me, the melody is complex and took a while for
the hook to grab me. It's one of those type of hooks that hits you
hours after you've listened to the song a few times. I complemented
Gil Norton's production on it before, but listening to even this
crappy digital rip of the studio take of Cowboys up on myspace gives
me chills, it's got a vibe very close to Recovering the Satellites.
Can not wait to hear Norton's production on the studio tracks Hanging
Tree and 1492.

Come Around has also grown on me. I don't care much for the first
verse, but once it sucks you in it's not a bad song. It builds to a
peek and comes down.

Can you tell me where I can hear these tracks? You have me intrigued now.

I like that a lot. Much more like their old rocking self on the earlier
albums. I look forward to hearing more.
