Celine will be the best selling female artist of the 1990's, well this post is
mainly to you. Mariah will probably be the best selling artist of this decade
for various reasons.
1 Mariah is ahead of Celine in worldwide album sales by at least 5 million
albums
2 Celine latest Christmas album won't sell near as good as her last 2 albums
because it's a Christmas album and generally they don't sell that much and alot
of people are tired of Celine since that overplayed Titantic song
3 #1's is selling better than Butterfly in worldwide album sales so Mariah's
album sales are improving and going up as Celine's albums sales take a steep
decline
So I hope this answers your question about Celine becoming the best selling
female artist of the decade. Celine just doesn't have enough time or enough
album sales to beat Mariah for this title.

I don't care if Celine is on top or not. If you put the two singers together
you can tell who the bitch is, Mariah. I mean on Diva's Live. Everyone on the
stage seemed to decide this within 2 min. If I remember correctly Mariah was
just singing to her old little self. Carol King, Twain, and Franklin seemed to
somewhat know who personality and nature was more natural and true.
I'm sorry. Compare material things with Celine and Mariah cause that's all you
can. Celine has something that Mariah can never have. Numbers in the end never
matter, devotion of fans, and the entertainers devotion to her fans is what
matter.
As far as my ears has served me I've never heard of Mariah spending hours with
sick children. I've never heard of Mariah covering the cost of a funeral for a
childs family who couldn't afford it. Hell I don't even know if Mariah does
support an organization, where if ask, many people could account Celine's
effort of Cystic Fibrosis.
But sure Mariah can wear those skirts that show her ass with the two little
slits up the sides.

No, but she helps run Camp Mariah, a summer camp for inner city children. Her
Christmas special showed her singing to an inner city kids' shelter, rather
than the anonymous kids in TAST who were clearly lip-sincing LTAL.

No, but she donated the proceeds from her Hero single to the families of (I
don't remember all the details) New Yorkers killed trying to stop a subway

Yeah, that must be why the back of Mariah's I'll Be There single specifically
states portions of the single sales went to organizations like the United Negro
College Fund. Just because you're ignorant of something doesn't mean it didn't
happen.

Like I said before, it's not gonna be the end of the world if Celine doesn't
sell the most. I don't care all that much. By the way, Celine's album sales are
not taking a steep decline. Mariah's are improving, though, and I'm happy for

Well, I didn't ask that question, but thanks anyway. And even ifCeline doesn't
beat Mariah, she's still sold a heckuva lot of albums in her career and I'm
very happy for her. Like Celine herself said "I'm not in competition with
anybody but myself."

Well you should have looked up Mariah's track record with kids before making
your misinformed opinion, Mariah just a couple months ago went to go help lots
of adoption children find families in New York City plus she has her Camp
Mariah where she actually visits and helps kids and their future, plus she she
has the Fresh Air fund and helps VH1's save the music which helps kids, I hope
this clears things up for you.

Butterfly but now her sales are improving again with #1's
But Celine's Christmas album will sell around 10-12 million at most, that's a
steep decline for Celine albums sales because her last album sold over 22
million

she's in competition with other artists whether they admit or not.

Why some people just like to put Mariah Carey down. What is your
problem. She may not be your idol but she is to someone else. The way
you were talking about her, show us that you don't even know Mariah. I
do not know a lot about her but I knew she owns a summer camp for teen
girls with problems. Two thumbs up for that!!!
I love Céline and I like Mariah. They have both, different
personality but that doesn't mean that one is good and one is bad. To
me, they are both very good singer but in a different way. I will
always love Céline more than Mariah but it is not a reason to "hate"
Mariah. What is wrong with you!!!

I'd like to sell 10-12 million records! I hope I do someday - it's my dream to
be a singer. And both Celine and Mariah are two of my biggest influences.

I'm not gullible, I know Celine's promoters and management and all are
competing with the other artists and want her to sell the most. But I doubt
Celine goes into the studio thinking "OK, this will be my next album to sell
over 25 million worldwide, and this is going to be the big single that will
make it sell that much." Celine has said she just wants to sing, and I bet she
lets Rene and her people worry about the business aspect of it all. By the way,
if she cared so much about selling records and beating everyone out, she
wouldn't be taking the long break next year that she's going to. Speaking of
which, I really hope and pray that she and Rene can have that baby they want so
badly =) It would be such an awesome Christmas gift!

Ok, so Celine's in competition with other artistes. I agree. But It's how
you look at that competition that counts. A bit of competition is good for
you. It makes you work harder. But If you get obsessed with competition,
it's bad. Celine doesn't compete like there's no tomorrow. She competes at
a level that's normal and respectable. She's not obsessed at being the best
in everything. She competes naturally to do the best in all she does.

It's officially been stated #1's has already sold over 6 million worldwide, so
i don't think you're right about TAST clobbering #1's, anyway #1's has a better
potential of selling good after the Christmas time while Celine's probably will
have trouble selling past January because it's a Christmas album.

Mariah, in the early 90s had more fans than Celine did. However, Celine
is getting more well known, and Mariah (I feel) is loosing fans, and
numbers of album is dropping. Which is due to the fact (again I also
feel) that Mariah's standard has dropped over the last couple of
albums. Of course the #1 album is going to sell, because it has all of
the classics. I think that Celine will be a big seller in 2000, that is
if she sticks with it, and doesn't leave the singing scene for toooo
long! Anyhow, who cares ! I mean, we love Celine, and other poeple love
Mariah. Can't everyone get along.. and just see that people have
different tates (even if they are bad haha-joke) :)

Of course they're dropping dummy boy, LTAL came out a year ago and TAST
is a christmas cd. It will peak this week and then go down the charts.
What do you expect? Are people gonna continue buying a christmas cd in
