This Weekend on RadioSonic...

Saturday: Colin James, Arlene Bishop, Strawberry

 Sunday: Duets! Duets! Duets!

This weekend, Saturday and Sunday January 23 and 24 1999, join CBC Radio
Two's RadioSonic with Leora Kornfeld and David Wisdom for two packed nights
of musical bliss. On Saturday it's an all new session, Listening Booth, and
concert, and Sunday it's a date with a slate of great duets!

On Saturday January 23, 7:00PM - Midnight*, we'll spin a slough of spanking
new tunes from 1999, including Sebadoh, Thrush Hermit, and Blondie! Tonight,
David Wisdom joins Toronto's creatively inspirational singer-songwriter
Arlene Bishop in session, and in the Listening Booth, it's the new album
from PEI popsters Strawberry. In concert, as taped from the gala CBC station
launch in Victoria BC, it's none other than blues-rock gone big-band
 jump-blues specialist Mr. Colin James!

In our last two hours on Saturday, we'll be previewing a few choice duets
for our Sunday show, including the harmonizing tones of Frank Sinatra and
Willie Nelson, the Supersuckers and Kelley Deal, and Louis Armstrong and
 Ella Fitzgerald.

 On Sunday January 24, airing 6:30PM - 8:00PM*, it's non-stop duets all night
long. A great duet done right can be a wonderful piece of musical give and
go, and tonight we've got a string of the best. Some will be familiar and
some may be a new discovery. Tune in to hear match ups like Ian and Sylvia,
Mickey and Sylvia, Nancy and Lee, George Jones and Tammy Wynette, Rocket
From The Crypt and Holly Golighty, and even "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" as
performed by the Mr. T Experience and the Muffs' Kim Shattuck!

 * RadioSonic broadcasts one hour later in the Atlantic time zone, and one
and a half hours later in Newfoundland.

 multiple Genie nominee Don McKellar!

Sat Feb 6, 1999: Pull up a piano stool for the first-ever RadioSonic Burt
Bacharach special! Hang on to your hard-rims, because we've got none other
