woke up late this morning,the car wouldn't start,took the kids to
school,got fired from my job .....and it's a good day,its a good day for the
blues.

Well,part of this might be pure fantasy,but I'm pretty sure about this " and
it's a good day,its a good day for the blues"
It's a AfroAmerican bluesartist ,singing a "kindoff" slow blues,..I heard it
first around 9 years ago
Anybody knows the song or the artist based on theese informations ?

For a good blues tune, with all the structure/story and words get to
"Sometimes I Forget" Loudon Wainwright III
and
Lazy Lester "Strange Things Happen" the bass and drumming on that are great.
and
"In the Heart of the Blues" by Magic Slim and the Teardrops.
apart from a glaring timing change this is really good and brilliantly
mastered and recorded

Believe me, I've tried google,maybe the problem is that my memory of the
lyrics isn't too good,as a matter of fact,the only thing I'm absolutely sure
of is that the artist was a black bluesman and probably on Aligator Records

His 'Old Part of Town' is also exceptional, but not blues. His voice and My
Sherona chords are good

Why is John Mayall 'Don't Waste My Time' in a blues genre when Anna Nalick
"Breathe (2am)) is rock?

"Rumble and Stumble" ,The Bluebirds is an out and out blues belter and the
instrumental 'Sixwheel Chaser'
listed as "Six Whelle Chaser" is the best blues boogie going, the cymbal
climbing and lower bass drum work is exceptional in that. Don't know who the
player/artist is though. S/he is good.

The song structure goes like this, the first line states something or a
question, the second line repeats that, and the third line and fourth line
answer the question

"Woke up this morning feeling bad
Woke up this morning feeling bad
Worst damn day I most ever had."

That was the criteria I used when suggesting those songs.

Artists have played around with that concept occasionally, Dave Hole has a
song where the repeats occur on lines 3 and 4.

Often non bluesman include a blues structured song on their albums that are
far better versions due to technical expertise with playing or phrasings or
they just have better singing voices.

The blues song normally describes some unbelievably tormented occurrence and
on that basis 3 or 4 songs is about my limit. It is a personal revelation of
some wrong suffered by the singer, mixed up with sexual metaphors more often
than not, and the singer wants us to listen to his problem but can't/won't
accept a solution to his problem. I have read that the song commences as a
poem describing the incident and is then structured in blues format (which
is how I would do it)..get the story down then decide if this is blues,r&b,
rock or ballad.

The Beatles standard 'Help' is a great blues song but was not written as
one, it is a popular music ballad but I have versions of that from reggae,
to rock,to jazz,to big band swing, to orchestra instrumental, to Oi!, to ska
and skin. Great song though
