Pockmarks on Horneman miniature?

I think I see pockmarks on the lower left side of the face, near the
chin, and also on the forehead. This portrait must've been a startling
likeness of him. If one compares the likeness to the photos of Hermine
and nephew Karl, one can see the likeness is very good, except for maybe
the lips being too thin. That must be the only blemish in this
portrait. Also, it doesn't look like his complexion is dark in this
portrait. Must be another idealization.
