Donna
When I said that it was a "cold day in December", I wasn't talking in
a literal sense. I was talking in a figurative sense and trying to be
poetic.
When using the word "cold", I was referring to the fact that what the
"crazed fanatic" did was cold blooded murder. He coldly murdered John
Lennon on that day in December and also, he has never expressed any
remorse nor has he ever apologized for murdering John. That is what I
meant by it being a "cold day in December". In the aftermath, each and
every one who was affected by this, mostly Beatles fans and fans of
John as a solo artist, and the feelings were very cold in the wake of
it. I felt those cold feelings myself in the wake of this and I was
only 10 years old when it happened. It actually brought tears to my
eyes and it also aroused my anger at the "crazed fanatic" for
murdering John Lennon. An anger that is still as fresh as the day that
he murdered Lennon and will never subside.
That is what I meant by it being a "cold day in December". It was cold
blooded murder in the same sense as any other senseless murder. The
murder actually mad the day feel like it was cold.
I hope that now you will understand.
