green day isn't just a fad. The group is a punk rock group tht expresses
their feelings therough their music. I really love the group. Their songs
make you feel alive, and are great party aned drunking songs.

hmmm..not when I saw them during the "kerplunk" tour.
It was a great pop-punk show. Now if I were to go,
I would feel like grandpa or an outsider since I never
joined a fraternity. Worse than Fugazi shows. But they
were a great band!
However, If you are quoting J. Mascis, there is an example
of a REAL sellout. Never been the same since Lou left
on account that J. thought Lou was a "latent homosexual".
What?????

did you ever actually listen to green day before they were popular?
sure, they may not be the most individual group, but that's not saying
that they are just a fad. they were around long before most of the
popular "alternative" bands were, yet they get more people making fun of
them than any other band i can think of.

why is that? i am getting so tired of people saying they "sold out".
they sound exactly the same as they always have, good or bad.

Hmmmmm.....Green Day is a fad. Have you told the members of Green
Day? All these years, when they were Sweet Children, when they made
their first album, when they toured and sold t-shirts out of the back
of a van....and they thought they were a band. Well, somebody make a
phone call to Billie Joe! I think it will be a great relief to him to
find out that he isn't a member of a band, but a member of a fad. Now
maybe he can deal with the unwanted onslaught of trendoids following
him mindlessly. Now maybe he can go back to Berkeley with his wife
and baby and live in peace.

As for the "Not some type of music" comment. You are correct, they
aren't in any genre of music. They are in quantum physics. Thank you
for pointing this fact out to all the members of
alt.music.alternative. We all thank you. You are a genius.

You've been "drunking" so much that you don't know what good music is.

How in the world do you know that Green Day plays good partying and
drinking songs if you're only 14? Shouldn't you be at home with mom
and dad enjoying a good bedtime story instead of pounding a fifth of
Jack? Personally, I think Green Day blows. By the way, stay in
school and learn some grammar and spelling.

Peace,
Chris

I have to offer a different opinion. I enjoyed the hell
out of the Kerplunk tour. However, that Lolla set looked
like an arena version of Romper Room. It was good while
it lasted, but feeling like an old fart while
under the age of 25 is not fun. Not to mention all
those junior high/high school idiots clammering over
seats like some 90's version of Hard Days Night...
