I'm Aaron Childs. I host Free Radio Jackson, an internet radio station based
out of Jackson, Michigan.   On Free Radio Jackson, I play a mixture of
blues, rock, jazz, alternative, electronica, roots rock/americana, reggae
and ska, etc.

It's the middle of the week, and to help you survive until the weekend we've
got a few special features on this show: The Backwards Song Contest, and The
Psychedelic Six-Pack.

The show starts midnight eastern Tuesday night/Wednesday morning and repeats
continuously until Midnight eastern time Thursday night/Friday morning, so

The Backwards Song Contest

We play a 15 second clip of a backwards song, and give 3 or 4 clues of what
the song is and who it's by.  If you know the correct answer, you e-mail us
the name of the song and the artist.  If you're right, we put your name
(along with anyone else who guesses correctly) into a hat for a drawing for
the weekly prize.  If nobody guesses correctly, we do a new song next week
and add another $20 to the pot.  If anyone wins, the prize automatically
restarts at $100.  We also reveal the winning clip from last week, and play
the song.. the right way.

The Backwards Song Contest happens twice a program, once in the middle, and
then again at the very end every Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday so
you have plenty of opportunities to listen in and try your luck!

copy of the CD 'The Nerve' by the Kalamazoo area band King Of The Forest!

loosely psychedelic nature) from the original psychedelic garage bands of
the 60's, through the kraut rock and progressive/art rock bands of the 70's,
through the psychedelic revivalists/revisionists of the 80's, and into the
shoe-gazers, trip-hop, and  electronica artists of the 90's and this decade.
We'll also throw in anything else that's kind of trippy and cool, too!
