...Is this thing on?

*tap* *tap* *tap*

Looks like the last relevant thing was posted here about a year and a half
ago. If anybody's out there, I'm looking to get the old band back together.

Sweet. It's....It's....It's afuckinglive.

The vocals on the new tracks are sorta trippy. Gives me badass
goosebumps but yeah it's not the same but it's pretty kickass. Saw
the Rockfest show out at Columbia Meadows and was just thanking the
stars that we even got to see it (me, my kids, friends, etc - the last
show I saw was Dirt tour at the Salem Armory). If William hadn't come
along at the time he did and was the dude he apparently is I'm pretty
sure that show and this record would probably never have happened. I
think it was a good move to soak the vocals hard to keep from freaking
everyone out...as it is it sounds a lot like old AIC, not quite, but
the feeling is sort of there even if the spirit is a little harder to
prop up...

It's hard to say without feeling like I'm nitpicking or picking on the
guy...he's awesome but he's not Layne but I'm glad we get more music
and to work on the catharsis a bit. And really, others have gone
through way worse...I dig the band and feel like its part of me but I
don't pretend that I am buddies with the people and families that are
in the group - I am just glad that people are feeling a little better
and can do some more of what they love and what we love them doing.
Dead friends, family, etc...the pain never completely goes away, but
coping can improve and life does go on. That's the cool thing about
life, I guess.

I still miss Layne. And I will admit that there were some tears at
the last show... but it was a great tribute and will continue to pay
great homage to yet another fallen comrade of our misspent illflung
youths.

Headed off to BLS tomorrow at Washington County Fairgrounds...it's
gonna be killer.

have a good life and keep kicking ass!
