Greetings all,

Just to spark conversation in this newsgroup, how about a discussion topic?

What codebase do you all enjoy to play or develop?

Myself, I like almost all of them, they have a lot to offer, depending
on what you need. As for play, I've played LP and enjoyed it, and some
custom ones from IRE.

I prefer SmaugFUSS 1.9 as it is more close to home to MUDs I used to
play growing up. I also love what they've done with the area file format
they really cleaned it up from stock Rom 2.4.

You can also use old smaug version area files as well so using AreaEdit
you can create new areas pretty visually and get them working like a
charm. Plus there is alot of upgrades to this codebase that make it
pretty effective for AI and questing. Anyways to get an idea check out
my sig for my mud. Also be sure to visit http://smaugmuds.org to find
out more about the smaugFUSS codebase.
