Hello All,

I'm looking for an original MS 3.5inch installation floppy for Win
3.1. It should say "Windows ver 3.1 Disk 7 of 7" on the label. Yes,
there was a Disk 7 in Europe and no, an image won't do. I already
have an image. I can clone the image back onto an original floppy if
the files have faded.

My point is, I'm looking for an original. Why? Because I'm a little
OCD and I have all the others and I want to complete my collection.
Its absence sticks out like a sore thumb... if you know what I mean,

thanks,
John

PS: Will pay cash!

I stil have tons of original 1.44 floppies and a couple of CDs, all of the early 90ies, most of them with Microsoft Software (DOS3.x-6.x, Win3.x, WinNT3.x-4.x, Driver, Office package, Applications...). Some have signatures (small letters, ititials of the owner) on their label. Some still may work fine, but I wouldn't give any guarantee for that.

On the other hand, I'm still actively using some old notebooks, running with old systems and applications, so I wouldn't be happy to give away those DATA. However, what I need isn't the original DISK but the original DATA on a disk or data medium that works. I had lots of copies of most of the floppies on some older 3,5" HDDs (IDE and SCSI), mostly former system drives. But I haven't the PCs any more, to get these HDDs running. So I'm rather happy that I still have the original floppies, i.e. the original data on these old original floppies... - just as a reserve. Also, I'm not always in the mood to search tons of floppies, where, among all the other disks, that one single piece that I'm looking for, will be missing, for sure. It's always that way, isn't it? (Murphy's law.)

Means: chances are, that I'm not really the kind of help you were looking for. But we should get in contact. Maybe some days I will find the time to look for a win3.1-7(7) disk in my old boxes. Also feel free to drop me a line about what elso you are looking for...

Cheers,
