Missing xcopy?

I have a WinXP cmputer at home that I sometimes use for programming. Remember the program distribution batch file I posted previously? Well, i doesn't work on that computer. When theconsole reaches the line that starts with "xcopy," the system complains that the command is not valid. I assume that the file is one of move, renamed or deleted. I have the Home Edition but not the install CD. I need this file to make it easier to pack a program for carrying places. How can I replace the file without breaking any rules?

check for "c:\windows\system32\xcopy.exe" to be sure that it's not there.

If you have a legal copy of XP Home then you are entitled to get a copy of xcopy.exe from your friends
who have the same release.

Thank you. I'll remember that. I'm at a WinXP computer right now. Don't remember the edition, though. I was about to ask how to determine the edition but then, after a system rstart, realized that it tells me upon restart. I'll look the next time restart the computer.

I restarted the computer. It's WinXP Home. I opened Explorer and looked for and found xcopy.exe. I copied it to a floppy. Now I just have to wait to test it on the computer in question. Thank you!

You might need to take "xcopy32.exe" as well, in case that's also
mysteriously missing.

I guess it should be mentioned to not copy OS files from 98 to XP. At
best, they will report wrong OS. You don't want to think about the worst.

I couldn't fix the problem with xcopy because I couldn't gain access to my computer. :'( I don't know when I'll be able to get access again.
