The latest Harry Potter film is mainly for fans of the series, and, even if
it holds your interest for its 2 hours or more, you can look back and wonder
what the hell all the fuss was about.
Or, that's how it seemed to me. But then I'm too old to care, having
never rehd any of the books, and don't intend to.
By the time we find out who the Half-Blood Prince is, we're beyond caring,
and there's no prize for guessing.
All very interesting, no doubt, but the days of wizardry are long gone,
and flying about on broomsticks and waving magic wands never happened in
reality - in the Days of Alchemy, Astrology, and Beginnings of Science.
The most marvellous thing about this type of movie is the Special Effects
genius of modern film-making, and a fantasy story can only "come to life"
under these circumstances.
But, if you like the series, then this is for you.
(Doesn't Alan Rickman make a good suave villain? See the first Die Hard
movie where he comes up against Bruce Willis.)
