What would British people think of the Patriot? I'm Canadian but like most
Canadians I consider myself more American than British, since Britain itself
is more American than anything else now.

What did you think of it? I've heard many Britons found it offensive. I
haven't seen it but from what I've read, it sounds pretty flakey.

I think I saw it from the point of view of an American rather than a Brit. I
enjoyed it. It was very entertaining and at some points emotional. I would
have liked to have been been more violent though.

That's true. The British will just cheer in different places that's
all.

Even the Brits at their worst can't compare to Nazis. Burning
civilians in a church wasn't invented by the Nazi's or even the
Brits...this sadistic streak runs deep in our species.

I wouldn't blame them...it would be just another irksome blip in the
history of their empire days.

Hm...was there anything for Brits to cheer about?… fratricide? As a
European-American I still feel a kinship to England and sort of a
fraternity with Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Wayward offspring
of England, each grown up and independent...yet somehow that feeling
of kinship remains...for me at least.

Aside from that, it's definitely a movie for Americans with a
decidedly American slant. The movie was cheesy in many places but I'm
glad to see some movies come out about those times.
