“Tarantula”, is born in Weedon, England. His films include “Clive of
India”, “A Christmas Carol”, “The Private Lives of Elizabeth and
Essex”, “Wuthering Heights”, “Rebecca”, “Suspicion”, “Spellbound”,
“Tower of London”, “The Paradine Case”, “Forever Amber”, “Father of
the Bride”, “The Bad and the Beautiful”, “We’re No Angels”, “Strangers
on a Train”, “North by Northwest”, and “The Prize”, and was on the TV
series “Topper” and “The Man From U.N.C.L.E.”

1902: MITSUO MIURA, cinematographer on “Madame White Snake”, is born
in Miyagi, Japan.

1921: Former Daiei president YASUYOSHI TOKUMA, executive producer of
“Gamera Super Monster”, “Tokyo Blackout”, and “Gamera 3: Revenge of
Irys”, is born in Kanagawa, Japan.

1945: KEATON YAMADA, the voice of Hanpei Hattori in “Kikaider: The
Animation”, is born in Hokkaido.

1947: SHINYA OWADA, who played SDF Lt. Gen. Katsumasa Mikumo in
“Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack”, is
born in Fukui, Japan. He was also the voice of Manpaku Aburame in
“Samura Squadron Shinkenger the Movie: The Fateful War”.

1949: BRIAN KERWIN, who played Hank Mitchell in “King Kong Lives”, is
born in Chicago.

1950: MARK L. TAYLOR, voice actor on “Ultraman: The Adventure Begins”,
is born in Houston. He was also in “Innerspace” and “Honey, I Shrunk
the Kids”.

1953: EVERETT BROWN, who played the native in the ape costume in the
original “King Kong”, dies.

1954: A Godzilla festival is held on Toho studio lot in preparation
for the premiere of “Gojira”.

1957: NANCY CARTWRIGHT, who played Caiman’s secretary in “Godzilla”,
is born in Dayton, Ohio. She is best known as the voice of Bart
Simpson, and also appeared in “Twilight Zone: The Movie”.
ATSUSHI ONITA, who played the father in “Rebirth of Mothra III”, is
born in Nagasaki. The professional wrestling legend revolutionized the
business with his ultraviolent “hardcore” style, and has served in the
Japanese Parliament.

1961: CHAD SMITH, drummer for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, whose “Dani
California” was used in “Death Note” and “Death Note 2: The Last
Name”, is born in St. Paul, Minn.

The Space Plant”, debuts on Japanese TV.
