Pamela Mason,, James Mason's wife, in the opening scenes of "Sex
Kittens go to College," (1960)

Was Kubrick influenced by this erotic, zany, ridiculous and hilarious
Alfred Zugsmith film?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pcEvkS7F8ms

The other day when I was thinking back to how my first ex-wife grew up
with Portland Mason (Porty) in Bev Hills (off Benedict Canyon) who
lived nearby with her Mother Pamela Mason, (Ostrer: Maidan name), In
researching discovered the 1960, Alfred Zugsmith film, "Sex Kittens go
to College" Pamela Mason has a role in the film as an older scientist,
who tranforms into a peroxide blonde at the end of the film. Starring
in the screwball comedy is Mamie Van Doren and Bridget Bardot's sister
Mijanou and Tuesday Weld originally considered to play Lolita.

I managed to find a copy of the uncensored film and it surprises me I
never knew about it. Apparently heavily censored (nudity) in the US
and was popular in France. It's a zany Allied Artist release. And has
in it's pathos and innuendos, similarities to Kubrick's Zany
flourishes and themes. The connection with Lolita's, James Mason and
his wife in "Sex Kittens" film is curious.

In this film we see a Hal 9000 Prototype named Thinko, "played" by The
1934 Robot Electro made by Westinghouse.

It's bizarre because, there seems to be some influence on Kubrick, or
incredible coincidences. I am putting together a video on it for fun,
showing bizarre connections...

I noticed on youtube a Kubrick EWS conspiracy video someone put
online about the pedophile themes in Kubrick films and the video
was apparently flagged by youtube multiple times and the user had to
remove it even after editing.
The connection of course, the meme of the "New World Order," sex
slaves, sex kittens,. Mkultra, Moon Hoax, and all of the other SK
related Conspirotheology and Syncrothesia.

The video I just posted is just the beginning of the film. There are
many more things in the film that seem to be connected with later
Kubrick films. I suspect some of the other Zugsmith films, also
influenced Kubrick. Here you get a Sci-Fi comedy.

The cast of Sex Kittens Playboy Playmates and Hollywood Starlets and
a precursors to Kubrick films galore. Even a scene remarkably like
the removed pie scene, and a sexy humping nude scenes reminiscent of
Eyes Wide Shut.

Mamie Van Doren ... Dr. Mathilda West, aka Tassels Monclair

Tuesday Weld ... Jody
Mijanou Bardot ... Suzanne
Mickey Shaughnessy ... Boomie
Louis Nye ... Dr. Zorch
Pamela Mason ... Dr. Myrtle Carter
Martin Milner ... George Barton
Conway Twitty ... Conway Twitty
Jackie Coogan ... Wildcat MacPherson
John Carradine ... Prof. Watts
Vampira ... Etta Toodie
Allan Drake ... Legs Raffertino
Norman Grabowski ... Woo Woo Grabowski (as Woo Woo Grabowski)
Irwin Berke ... Prof. Towers
Charles Chaplin Jr. ... Fire Chief
Harold Lloyd Jr. ... Policeman
Jody Fair ... Bartender

This is funny...Vampira of course was in Plan 9 from Outer Space and

The Kubrick-Vampira Connection, Part 2 – Beat Chicks (go to web site
for the photos

by C. Jerry Kutner

http://brightlightsfilm.com/blog/2007/05/the-kubrick-vampira-connection-part-2-beat-chicks.html

Check out these frames from Stanley Kubrick’s Lolita (1962) with Peter
Sellers as hip TV playwright, “Clare Quilty,” and Marianne Stone as
his companion, “Vivian Darkbloom” (the name is an anagram of Lolita‘s
author, Vladimir Nabokov). Ms. Darkbloom’s look seems directly
inspired by the look of Maila Nurmi as Vampira.

I have no proof that Kubrick knew or admired Vampira. He might simply
have been trying to characterize Lolita‘s Vivian Darkbloom as a “Beat
chick.” Even so, the Beat chick look can be traced directly to Maila
Nurmi and her Vampira creation. Maila was the archetypal Beat chick,
hanging out at Googie’s coffeeshop in the early ’50s with such other
non-conforming proto-Beats as Marlon Brando, Anthony Perkins, and
James Dean. She even appeared as a Beat poetess in The Beat Generation
(Producer: Albert Zugsmith; Director: Charles F. Haas) released in
1959 -two years after Audrey Hepburn adopted a Beat chick look in
Stanley Donen’s Funny Face, and one year after Kim Novak played a
Greenwich Village Beat (actually a witch!) in Richard Quine’s
criminally underrated Bell, Book and Candle.

Maila says Vampira’s look was based in part on Gloria Swanson in
Sunset Boulevard and partly on “the Addams woman,” the macabre
creation of New Yorker cartoonist Charles Addams, nameless for years,
who would ultimately be christened “Morticia” when she made her TV
debut in 1964′s The Addams Family.

To make matters even stranger, websites depicting who dated who inn
Hollywood, Kubrick is listed as have dated Vampira....

Having the complete unexpurgated version of Sex Kittens go to College
trying to make the connection with the nakedness and the humping of
Robot "Thinko" (electro)....seducing a Robot, in his "dream"--this
robot dreams wild sexy dreams...I made a video, to see how it looks---
youtube could be angry over the nudity... Dare I upload it?
Interspersed with the uncensored EWS orggee. And the pie fight. I
dunno. Needs work.

Watch youtube serch for "Esoteric Kitten" 20plus videos about
Hollywood Sex Slaves. What vile mind control , Rosemary's Baby
molestations, may have befallen my Manischevitz addled young love, who
would crawl under the table laughing hysterically, during her orthodox
family holiday meals, while this out of place gentile hippie looked on
at the old country family dynamics and later talk of "Bad Blood," with
trepidation. Dr. Freud or Jung could't fix anything why could I think
I could?

Revisiting the revisitings

Wikipedia:

"Knowlton also made claims prefiguring those of Black Dahlia Files
author Donald Wolfe. In 1999, she claimed in various public forums
that Norman Chandler participated in a coverup of the murder. Knowlton
claimed that on Halloween 1946 she was sold at the age of nine as a
child prostitute to a Pasadena Satanic sex cult.[16] She frequently
alleged that she was sold as a child prostitute to a long list of dead
movie stars and other notables, including Norman Chandler, Gene Autry
(whose name she continually misspelled as Autrey), Arthur Freed, and
Walt Disney. Knowlton became so abusive in her Usenet posts[17] that
Pacbell canceled her account in 1999."

Have to look into these..

In the mid to late sixties: As to the Lookout Mt Laboratory, when me
and my first ex wife and friends, would go driving to smoke pot, we'd
drive endlessly in the Hills off Laurel Canyon and Mulholland Dr.
Listening to music and just spacing out. Sometimes we'd be on
acid. Every so often in these soujourns, we would find ourselves at
dead ends in the road. At these dead ends, there was a steel fence
with a sign that it was electrified, The forested hills would block
any view of the fence. On the fence was a white metal sign with black
block letters, "CONTROLLED AREA" - Do not enter.

Sometimes when we'd find these dead ends accidentally and it was ether
creepy or hilarious, depending if we were peaking or not. Othertimes
we would drive around endlessly with the goal to find one of the dead
ends because we wanted to know what that CONTOLLED AREA was. Usually
when we were trying to find it we couldn't. The hills had complex
winding roads like a maze and we were stoned.

“One afternoon I was at Lookout Mountain right here in Hollywood, and
I got a call from a Woody Mark. He said ‘George, I need you out here
tomorrow for a special test.’ I got there that night and he said,
‘Tomorrow morning you’re going to go out with five other guys and
you’re going to be standing at ground zero.’ I said, ‘Ground zero?’ He
said. ‘Yeah, but the bomb’s gonna go off 10,000 feet above you.’ I
said, ‘Well, what kind of protective gear am I going to have?’ He said
‘None.’ I remember I had a baseball hat, so I wore that just in case.
He gave me a still camera, and two motion picture cameras. These were
35mm Eyemos. I set up the two Eyemos, and had little trip wires that I
could trip with my foot starting about 5 seconds before the blast. And
the still camera, I also had a trip wire so that I could trip it. I
could get one exposure only. The five other guys were scientists and
they volunteered to be there. I wasn’t a volunteer. I didn’t find out
until I got there.”

The Edgewood Arsenal near Baltimore, MD.

http://themurkynews.blogspot.com/2008/06/chapter-eleven-grand-tour-of-satans.html

"...Frank Zappa literally grew up at the Edgewood Arsenal, having
lived the first seven years of his life in military housing on the
grounds of the facility. The family later moved to Lancaster,
California, near Edwards Air Force Base, where Francis Zappa continued
to busy himself with doing classified work for the military/
intelligence complex."

"Frank Zappa...as you probably know, played a large part in creating
the whole 'hippie' youth culture. And his parents? A quote from
McGowan:"...it is probably safe to say that Frank’s dad...had little
regard for the youth culture of the 1960s, given that Francis Zappa
was...a chemical warfare specialist assigned to – where else? – the
Edgewood Arsenal. Edgewood is, of course, the longtime home of
America’s chemical warfare program, as well as a facility frequently
cited as being deeply enmeshed in MK-ULTRA operations."

As hippies of the day knew, Zappa ended up lliving in Laurel Canyon.
I myself lived on Ridpath in Laural Canyon, renting a house owned by
the Evangelist-Healer Kathryn Kuhlman, whom I never met.

"For several decades there has been serious debate regarding the
authenticity of Kathryn Kuhlman's ministry. Some would suggest that
she was a modern day prophet exercising the power of God, whereas
others would suggest that she was a false prophet, exercising a
"spirit" that masqueraded as God. The debate continues today with
proponents of the "Prosperity Theology" & "Faith Healing" movement,
such as Benny Hinn, upholding Kuhlman as an important forerunner, but
with some Christian apologists, such as [18] Hank Hanegraaff of the
Christian Research Institute, considering Kuhlman to be an influential
forerunner of a false Christianity that robs people of their money and
propagates a distorted substitute of true Christian teachings."

Revised write up on these two videos

Deep Silliness from 1960, Sex Kittens go to College An influence on
Kubrick?

Thinko and Hal 9000, Sex Kittens, Kubrick's Cryptoslapstick
Influences? The Thinko Dream scene

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggWxRZzxqtY

Revised write up on these two videos

Watch in HD if possible. Influences, Impressions and Innuendoes from
the "Beat Generation" and later Kubrick films.

The Robot “Thinko,” is “played” by “Electro” a Westinghouse robot..
After the Sex Kittens go to College scene, there is a Westinghouse
film which demonstrates their computer robot originally built in
1939, Here, “Thinko” is having a nervous breakdown.

“Sex Kittens go to College,” (1960)--an influence on Kubrick? This
footage is from the uncensored French version, colorized and
psychedelicized with effects and referenced with Kubrick associated
imagery or connections. Gotta have some looseness of associations
here, to see the humor.

There is a definite element of zany cryptoslapstick in Dr..
Strangelove, Lolita, A Clockwork Orange, The Shining, Full Metal
Jacket and Eyes Wide Shut. Here we see Sci-fi silliness in 1960 with
elements that may have crept into Kubrick’s work. OF course A.I.,
involves scenes of Mechanophilia

I have no doubt Kubrick saw this film, especially since his leading
man, for Lolita, James Mason's wife Pamela, was in it and it was
released in 1960 and getting minor attention in Europe due to the racy
scenes, while Lolita was being produced.

The alternate title was "Beauty and the Robot." A precursor to a
cinematic Hall 9000, but here we having a dreaming Hal who has sexy
dreams. This Computer is error free, Horney Hal. Thinko’s dream is
eerie shades of the centerpiece of Eyes Wide Shut, while cheered on
by an ape.

Sociobiologist, Edward O. Wilson, in "Biophilia," describes
mechanophilia, the love of machines, as "a special case of
biophilia". Biophilia defined as the natural bond of humans with
other living systems. Here we see Thinko dreaming he is being seduced
by beautiful sex kittens, who do a striptease for him.

This film could not have escaped Kubrick’s eye. It has a primitive
sci-fi zaniness. the humor in parts remind me of Kubrick’s zany
Kubrick moments. Besides Pamela Mason, it Starred Mamie Van Doren,
Tuesday Weld (who he considered for Lolita), Vampira, and Bridgette
Bardot’s sister, Mijanou Bardot.

The Vampira look as has been suggested by others, may have inspired
Kubrick in the character of the beat Character, Vivian Darkbloom,
(anagram 9f “Vladimir Nabokov” played by Marianne Stone, Quilty's
female friend. Dr. Zorch is reminiscent of Dr. Zempf. The zany
acting has a Marx brother’s quality to it, but Dr. Strangelove
reached a cryptoslapstick pitch and then held back with that deletion
of the pie fight in the War Room, but manages to make it clear how
utterly absurd, it would be to accidentally destroy humankind by
human bungling and mad men.

At that time, Kubrick was working with Nabokov a brilliant crypto-
sexual- slapstick mind himself, on a film portraying a Sex Kitten and
a pathetic, obsessed Humbert and deviated prevert Quilty and then soon
after, Dr. Strangelove, with Terry Southern, another wild genius,
satirist and dream weaver of dark comedy, with it's zany antics and
deleted pie throwing scene, then 2001 and Hal 9000. There’d been talk
of Kubrick doing Southern’s “Candy,” the 1958 novel, that pushed the
limits of sex comedy, but that deal never happened and that was a
pity. Wikipedia seems to indicate, that the zaniness of the new
Strangelove script, may have been fueled with “diet pills.” Southern
was couching his zany friend, Peter Sellers. It was an incredibly,
intense and funny movie. The success of Southern’s book “Candy,” may
have influenced director Zugsmith, in slapping together this this
low budget, Sex Kitten farce.

This “Sex Kittens” film on a much lower rung of production quality,
has big themes, mashed one after another, Robotics, Computers, A.I.,
Sex Kittens, mechanophilia, apes, advanced intelligence and plenty of
sex, sexual repression and liberation, Beat Generation, Mesmerism,
Mind control, and other topics Kubrick played with. Some of these
things may have come to a head in Kubrick’s vision for A.I. There
is an Mk Ultra message here somewhere for Kubrick Conspirotheology.

Life is not just information. and it has it's own way of doing
things, which people in various stages of learning are not going to
understand.

Using reductionistic language, created by psuedoscience, may sound
fine, but it is disrepectful to use such terms as "Global Brain". The
vocabulary of infinity is already there. There is no reinventing the
wheel.

Renaming the ineffable is shallow. It is like telling a girlfriend
she is just blood and pus and deny her soul. The causes that cause
things had it's miracle in time without beginning.

The Tin Man had no heart. AI's David was not a real boy. The behavior
of "love " with David, was just a program. In Kubrick's version of
AI, there is a "miracle" and the mother wakes up and the advanced
mecha are baffled. In Speilberg's version of the ending, The mother
never wakes up. No miracle. Real downer.

Calling a Buddha the "Global Brain" is disrespectful and silly.

Like silly people, trying to reinvent the wheel, as if their
terminology superceeds reality as it is. Every Human Being has this
heart of buddha nature, either manifested or dormant. The job for a
person is to awaken to themselves and others to the true buddha
nature. Ultimately a Buddha is an enlightened Human Being who sees
rality as it is. Doing so would be like someone waking up and
realizing how silly their theorizing is.

Pull the plug and it's all gone. No machine has a heart. It in non-
sentient no matter how much information it communicates. Information
is also nothing, even all the patterns of nature in infinity. Pull the
plug and it is gone--poof. It is all stored in voidness as infintie
possibilites of potential. This is all natural cause and effect and
nothing creates it and it is beyond words. It is automatic. Pull
the plug on a sentient being and
it continues, because there is a Miracle Nature at work at the heart
of it, that is beyond theory or conception.

Doi!

The "global brain" is just silly pseudo-objectivist words, chosen by
some tripped out, new age, acid heads that wanted to be cool, who
never went deep enough to understand that reinventing the wheel is
very pretentious of little smartaleck ants, groveling in the gravity
well.

Infinity is over. It was already "argued" It was already decided. It
is what it is, Go Kuon. Those who are time challenged, renaming it
to sound scientific, is utterly silly.

Excerpt from "On the Opening of the Eyes" 1271--Sun Lotus.

"Later, in the time of the Buddha, there were the six non-Buddhist
teachers who studied and transmitted these non-Buddhist scriptures and
acted as tutors to the kings of the five regions of India. Their
teachings split into ninety-five or ninety-six different lines,
forming school after school. The banners of their pride were raised
higher than the heaven where there is neither thought nor no thought,
16 and their dogmatic rigidity was harder than metal or stone. But in
their skill and depth of understanding, they surpassed anything known
in Confucianism. They were able to perceive two, three, or even seven
existences, a period of eighty thousand kalpas, into the past, and
they likewise knew what would happen eighty thousand kalpas in the
future. As the fundamental principle of their doctrine, some of these
schools taught that causes produce effects, others taught that causes
do not produce effects, while still others taught that causes both do
and do not produce effects. Such were the fundamental principles of
these non-Buddhist schools.

The devout followers of the non- Buddhist teachings observe the five
precepts and the ten good precepts, practice the kind of meditation
that is still accompanied by outflows, and, ascending to the worlds of
form and formlessness,17 believe they have attained nirvana when they
reach the highest of the heavens.

But although they make their way upward bit by bit like an inchworm,
they fall back from the heaven where there is neither thought nor no
thought, and descend instead into the three evil paths. Not a single
one succeeds in remaining on the level of the heavens, though they
believe that once having attained that level they will never descend
from it. Each approves and practices the doctrines taught by his
teacher and firmly abides by them. Thus some of them bathe three times
a day in the Ganges even on cold winter days, while others pull out
the hairs on their head, fling themselves against rocks, expose
themselves to fire, burn their bodies, or go about stark naked. Again
there are those who believe they can gain good fortune by sacrificing
many horses, or who burn grasses and trees, or make obeisance to every
tree they encounter.

Erroneous teachings such as these are too numerous to be counted.
Their adherents pay as much respect and honor to the teachers who
propound them as the heavenly deities pay to the lord Shakra, or the
court ministers pay to the ruler of the empire. But not a single
person who adheres to these ninety-five types of higher or lower non-
Buddhist teachings ever escapes from the cycle of birth and death.
Those who follow teachers of the better sort will, after two or three
rebirths, fall into the evil paths, while those who follow evil
teachers will fall into the evil paths in their very next rebirth.

And yet the main point of these non-Buddhist teachings constitutes an
important means of entry into Buddhism. Some of them state, “A
thousand years from now, the Buddha will appear in the world,” while
others state, “A hundred years from now, the Buddha will appear in the
world.” The Nirvana Sutra remarks, “All of the non-Buddhist scriptures
and writings in society are themselves Buddhist teachings, not non-
Buddhist teachings.” And in the Lotus Sutra it is written, “Before the
multitude they seem possessed of the three poisons or manifest the
signs of distorted views. My disciples in this manner use expedient
means to save living beings.”20

It's delusion Don. Sci-fi delusion. It's your religion of machine
manitous like that terrible Tony Curtis movie--utter gibber. The real
science comes from actual inner awakening--actual experience not
theoretical gabber, A real scientist is not so pretentious.

The human is equiped to experience. Buddhism is not religion as most
people in the west might conceive of religion. It was the science of
meditation--yoga. It is beyond anything science has yet to offer.
Sciewne is still totally in the dark because of this same kind of
backward thinking as to create a science myth The way to tune in.
it's been there all along, It is not about belief. It's not about
evolution. It's about yoga and entheogens, it's not easy. it takes
practice and effort. Einstein was a cryptobuddhist for a reason.
DNA was realized by Crick while on on acid. The global brain theory
was based on LSD experience of relatively unpractised and unprepared
people.

To say the Global Brain is going to fix things is like saying the same
thing as some misguided people who misunderstand religion andf think a
person can be saved by a savior, without the believer making any
effort.. For your argument to have any validity you would have to
state experiential proof and the method of awakening to the truth
would have to be repeatable. Instead youtr theory is saying that is
is just automatic and no one needs to practice or do anything at all---
like mechanical fate. In a case like that people at large become
deranged,

Where is your practice? What is the experiential awakening. It is
just naive theory.

In reality --in real terms---what your are saying is really like, some
historical misguided Zen, splitting off from real Buddhismj, when
some people came to believe they were so smart and that since they
were already buddhas, (Global Vain) they need not practice, They
ridiculed the yogas that practiced and lived life adrift in delusion.

In real terms it is just the key to the bottomless pit of repetition
and suffering. Buddhism was about cutting off the suffering by
awakening and then spread the word to others and instructing them on
simple practice.

When death comes, and it will, one should be well prepared by
practice. This death could be real death or Entheogenic death. Both
take preparation. There is no machine that will help you other then
the law of causation that gives you the result of your own causes. No
deity other then your own awakened self and the lives of all the
Buddha throughout the universe all one and the same. It does not
arise nor recede. Is neither born nor unborn, neither existence nor
non-existence.

Buddhism is time without beginning.

No computer is going to swoop down and save anyone. technology can be
good or bad depending on the lifestate of the society. There are no
XT's but us.

All buddhas have taught that they appear throughout time and space and
teach others to meet the needs of suffering beings and to make them
create of bond with the ultimate law of life and death. The bond can
be a negative bond or a positive one. Crucify a buddha (it happens)
and the result will be forming a negative bond which eventually. after
many lives of constant suffering. wises up. this is one of the
"expedient means of the Buddha" It was said and is experientially
proven, that to slander the Supreme Law of the Universe with gibber
gabber and "one;'s head is split in seven pieces," One is best to
reflect on this and one's actual living reality, night and day with
formal inner practice, otheriwse all is vain theory.

Your beliefs have no validity or proofs it is just speculation along
with a lack of ability to grasp things. To sat all beings are equal
is only true with all beings are enlightened. just like the Zen men
of the 13th century they decide they do not need to practice, They
use the idea that all buddhas are equal to mean all beings are equal
to those even in wretched life states. That thinking perpetutates
those wretched life states.

Even the original propounders of Global Brain theory would disagree
with your superstitions.

Are you communicating with Aliens and they are telling you this stuff--
that people are all eqaul even when unenliightened? If so then that
is keeping you down. Tell them to f ...off.

You could also take the time to consider what i wrote and not be so

Funny you should say smetterlinge, To attract the Butterfly, I just planted 3 kinds of milkweed in the backyard jungle.

Apparently Mason and Nabokov spent the remainders of their lives in a tiny, chalet, with Monarch butterflies drawn to the milkweed. But all simply happenstance, no doubt.

Denying art denies purpose and meaning. Dragging SK down with the
thieves of life and the piles of mechanical mediocrity is
cannibalism. Even a good Ant's art is meaningful.
