My theory is that Stanley Kubrick was a clandestine Luciferian
Mason (CLuM) himself. Unfortunately for CLuMs, their membership is an
implied suicide pact: they eventually have to commit suicide or be
sacrificed by their "Brothers" to Lucifer/Satan. Kubrick's "sudden"
death happened just after he completed his crowning achievement, the
movie "Eyes Wide Shut".

This movie is part of the Revelation of the Masonic Method.
Another such work is Mozart's opera "The Magic Flute". Mozart was
sacrificed and his body was interred in the foundations of a new,
important Masonic Lodge in Vienna, Austria.

Captain William Morgan disappeared in August 1826, just after the
synchronized deaths of the second and third Presidents of New Atlantis,
John Adams and Thomas "Illuminatus" Jefferson, on July 4, 1826, the
Jubilee of the Independence of New Atlantis.

As it happened, the President at that time was John Quincy Adams,
John Adams's son. It may be that John Quincy Adams's anti-Masonic
sentiments were the result of his understanding of the secret behind
his father's synchronized death.

Give up your inquiries which are completely useless, and consider
these words a second warning. We hope, for your own good, that
this will be sufficient.

What Kubrick was influenced by in 'Eyes Wide Shut' was the O.T.O., [the
Rosicrucian group Crowley came from] which was active in Southern
California in the 1940s, peddling 'Rosicrucian sex magic' and the like.

The secret society in the film was based on this, *not* freemasonry.
And it is dishonest and quite offensive to suggest that this might be
so, especially wihtout evidence.

Interestingly, among O.T.O. members at that time in California, using
it as a vehicle to try to get into the pants of various females, was
one L Ron Hubbard . . .

Yes - I have long read that there were two factions in Masonry, and that
there were many organisations which posed as being 'Rosicrucian',
but that of the real Rosicrucian movement, only the Rosicrucians themselves
knew. I take it from your name that, despite your obvious disdain for
Crowley and Hubbard, you draw your identity from a Rosicrucian source.
Perhaps you could give your view on these issues? I have read something
of the divisions in the world's esoteric movements, and I suspect
much - but do not KNOW the truth. As for me - I was caught between the
Sun and the Moon, and bearing my Curse I was delivered into Hell. It is
said that one becomes Blind from staring into the Sun - in a metaphorical
as well as literal sense... But what is this 'spiritual blindness'? Is it
'blind hope', 'blindness to the spirit' - as in the Christian sense - or it
it something different? And of those who embrace the Sun - do they
require one to pass through the Fire? Which is the road of Life - by which
not a single shard of one's soul is forsaken? Is it possible to rebuild a
fallen house and reuinite a shattered soul? I could go on forever, but I
will
leave it at that.

I was hoping I might find some answers in masonry - but as of late I have
been treated like dirt here.

The pants were a secondary consideration, his primary goal was
getting into their wallets...

Scientology maybe unique in the fact that it's the first religion
basically founded on the principle of making money, or at least the
religion with the most thinly veiled attempt at covering those said
objectives up.

I hope everyone realizes this thread was originally a troll
attempt, hence the cross-posting to various divergent groups and the
subject matter brought forth.

As far the Rosicrucians, were not they the ones that used to
advertise in the back section of Popular Mechanics and such? Scary

Hi

I don't have a particular disdain for Crowley. Most of the information
about him is open to question and I'd rather not come to an opinion
based on such information. I guess if I met him in the street I would
be wary . . .

On Hubbard we have more clear information to indicate that many of his
actions were morally questionable, though if one thing can be said in
his favour and Crowley's it is that they certainly led interesting
lives.

I do not think there is any evidence of a 'real' Rosicrucian movement.
All the public manifestations have questionable lineages.

The oldest, the Masonic SRIA, is supposed to have a charter from an
original 'authentic' order, but I do not think this document, if it
exists, has been independently verified.

HS Lewis's AMORC also claims a lineage from various Rosicrucians
operating in Europe in the 1800s, but Rosicrucianism at the time tended
to attract all sorts of shysters and Lewis never presented any evidence
for the veracity of his antecedents. Much of the AMORC ritual and
certainly the 'Egyptian' emphasis, comes from the Masonic Rite of
Memphis-Mizraim. Certain of Lewis's actions, including a public
manifestation of 'alchemy' are now thought to have been less than
honest.

Other Rosicrucians freely admit to having developed their own cocktail
of hermeticism, including Randolph, who said he made most of
his 'Rosicrucianism' up in his head.

The more metaphysical aspects of your problem I cannot assist with.
Freemasonry and Rosicrucianism are of use for their rituals and
writing, but they are only of use insofar as the initiate uses them to
find answers from within. The answers are not 'out there' being kept
hidden by a secret society.

When I call myself Rosencreuz, its a way of letting people know that I
have a deep interest in Rosicrucianism. I do not currently belong to
any organisation, and do not feel the need to do so. I am developing
more of an interest in ritual and this may lead me to some Masonic
involvement. Certainly I've found that the brothers do some fantastic
research and they have often helped me out with information.

I have been involved with AMORC and do not feel that their methods work
particularly well for me, being fairly watered down. The phrase 'mail-
order mysticim' is perhaps unduly negative but in some senses it sums
up how their teachings felt for me.

Would it be possible, for you to explain what part of the movie was
Masonic in nature. To my mind the first part of the movie was about love
and adultery and it was handled quite well. The second part where Tom
Cruise visits the secret sex club was silly, although the actually scene
was rather exotic. Was the secret sex club supposed to be Masonic by any
chance?

I really must see EWS, obviously.

However, since I gather the scene under discussion involves a robed
orgy (no?), then as a member of the OTO I must take issue with
Rosencreuz' assertion that it is modelled on Order usages, either then
(ie. in the 40's) or now.

From the descriptions of the scene, he might have drawn part of his
inspiration from the essay "Energised Enthusiasm" by AC, and the
idealized sexual mass-in-truth described rather elegantly in that paper
corresponds to a sexual mass-in-token (ie. symbolic) known as the
Gnostic Mass, which is indeed celebrated by the Order. I can't even
guess more before I rent the movie. Downside: it was universally
described as boring. Upside: Ms. Kidman's behind is, I gather,
prominently displayed throughout the film, and as behinds go, is a
classic.

I have not seen the movie myself but if, as suggested, the club was based
upon the O.T.O then it is worth bearing in mind that the O.T.O is in some
ways an offshoot of Masonry.. Alesteir Crowley originating in such
movements
as Freemasonry and the Golden Dawn. Once the O.T.O became pronounced
about the use of sex magick and the worship of Babalon, however, Freemasonry
distanced itself from Crowley's organisation. Freemasonry is
considered by some as being, ultimately, a secular Solar Deism, and as
such differs markedly from the objectives of Crowley's organisation.

Hi Paul

Yes, you are correct and I should have made the distinction between
Crowley's views and the O.T.O. We in Australia were fortunate enough
to have the O.T.O. established here before Crowley became involved in
it. It is I understand, doing quite well run here and in good standing
with the remnants of the FRA and other Rosicrucian groups that made
their way here many years ago. [With the possible exception of AMORC.]

Disingenuous. I mean that what you keep ascribing to Crowley is not
what Crowley in fact said.

Hardly. It was started in Australia by Frank Bennett, who was a close
companion and student of Crowley's.

So I understand it from my Brothers and Sisters in Oceania Lodge, which
is indeed in the Crowleyan line of descent of OTO.

Perhaps you mean it is off-topic for alt.movies.kubrick? In that case,
