That is awesome! I want it, but I'm a little afraid of the reaction
it might stir from people who haven't seen the film.
"So, is this new, this painting?"
"Yeah, like it?"
"...Sure! ...Are you..._into_ that sort of thing?"
GS George
An incredible likeness. But is it art?

What better way to introduce people to the film? At 24 bucks it's a steal!

There are those who think unravelled and matted, used toilet paper is
art, a roarshit pattern ya know. I don't think it's anything other
than a pretty good copy alterations aside. I never have understood
why someone would want to go to all the trouble to do something like
this. Kind of like painting a photograph it seems... The macabre
meets the perverse is the appeal I suppose.

You got that riot! Personally, I'm hoping that this artist, Willem
McClone or whomever, next duplicates the scene in EWS wherein Nicole
reveals her monkey. Hell, I may just do it myself as one of those
latchhook rug thingies...

You so crazy!

I suppose. But a painting (in my mind) should be more than an attempt
at mere photographic reproduction. It's nice that an artist can do
that, but what is the point, other than that? I could take the same
frame blowup and run it through Photoshop and get a "painterly"
effect.
Katharina's paintings, for example, suggest a near-realistic, almost
photographic reproduction of her still life subjects. But there is
something else about her works that take them to another level beyond
photographic reproduction. They are her interpretations of that
reality, and that is one distinction between art and merely
reproducing something real through painting. Christiane's painting
work that way too. But then they are real artists, not simply
recipients of the "draw me and win a prize" school of painting.

On the other hand, it is better than a painting of Elvis on black
velvet.

How about trying a Chia Pet?

Not for such an exacting artist as myself... I wouldn't know where the
fur ends and the early morning dew begins...
