And so much more, Age of Gold, Discrete Charm, Belle duJour, Phantom of
Liberty, So very many beautifully surreal and gleefully bizzare films, He was
the Lynch of his time. Love his work.

My faves:
Dimensions of Dialogue by Svankmajer and anything by the Quay brothers.
Peace,
The log
"I can't wait to eat that monkey"
Is that the one where the objects keep "eating" one another until they
become more finely ground up? I think I've seen all from Svankmajer
that's available on video. If he took the damned dialogue out of
_Faust_ I'd love it as much as his other feature length ones. :-)
I got a kick out of his one with the soccer players. _Conspirators_
and _Alice_ have shorter works appended to them that I don't think
I've seen, but I have the DVD's on the way from Amazon as I type.

I've seen their video, something like "collected works" (including
"Cabinet of [you guessed it!] Jan Svankmajer"). And their full-length
feature _Institute Benjamenta_. Didn't quite care for the latter (I
just got bored and it was hard to follow once the mind wandered), but
I'll give it another try one of these days.
But Svankmajer is awesome. The best bizarre-movie-making I've seen,
along with DL's stuff.
Yup that's the one.

I have a video with This Unnameable Little Broom, The Cabinet of Jan Svankmajer
and Street of Crocodiles. All absolute masterpieces of animation.
