Idaho man dies while mountain biking in Moab

An Idaho man died while mountain biking in Moab on Friday, police
said.
Todd Johnston, 42, of Ketchum, was on the Gold Bar Rim Trail when he
complained of being tired and told his friends he wanted to walk his
bike, Grand County sheriff's deputies said in a news release.
His two friends went on ahead, then waited for him to catch up. After
about five minutes, they turned back. They found Johnston had
collapsed and a group of motorcycle riders were performing
cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Emergency crews arrived about 2:45 p.m.
and used a defibrillator to try to revive him. After about an hour of
CPR, he was pronounced dead.

Yeah, it's true that you can die from mtn biking. Falling over cliffs,
wiping out on rocks, getting impaled by tree branches (almost did it
once), and heart attacks due to heavy taxing of your cardiovascular
system. I think all sports come with risks. People die all the time by
falling off horses while horseback riding, etc. Stuff happens... it's
all part of life. People die in car accidents during their commute to
work. Life is not without risks. I guess everyone needs to weigh the
risk/benefit analysis of whatever sport/activity they decide to
undertake.
But, sure, mountain biking is dangerous. That's part of the thrill of
it though ;)
