Man Questioned Over Sex Attack On Girl, 11

A man has been arrested after an 11-year-old girl was seriously
sexually assaulted in a park in south Wales, police have said.
The incident happened in Llanbradach Park, near Caerphilly
The 19-year-old from Pontypridd is being questioned in custody after
his arrest in connection with the incident.
Police appealed for information about anyone seen acting suspiciously
around Llanbradach Park, near Caerphilly.
The area was cordoned off and house-to-house inquiries have been
carried out after the girl was assaulted near the village library at
about midday on Monday.
Detective Superintendent Geoff Ronayne, who is leading the
investigation for Gwent Police, said: "The young girl and her family
are currently being supported by specialist officers following this
horrific incident.
"We are appealing for anyone who was in the area of Llanbradach Park
between the hours of 8am and 2pm, on Monday January 4, to come forward
as they could hold vital information that could assist our
investigation.
"In addition to this if you saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area
of the park in the last few weeks please contact us."
He added: "The serious sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl is an
extremely rare occurrence in Gwent."
Police issued a description of the girl's attacker - he was wearing a
black hooded top with a grey back, army-style trousers and brown
shoes.
He is thought to have had a bike, possibly a mountain bike or BMX.
