I am getting ready to paint the outside of a 1969 mobile home. This home
will be put up for resale, so I don't want to put to much in it. Can any
one answer the following:
1. Can I get buy with latex house paint (the aluminum is showing through
in places)?
2. Will a roller and brush give a good enough finish? The home is in a
park very close to the next.
3. The home has mildew and/or a greenish moss on the sides. What should I
do about this.

Thanks
Ted (IL)

I would love to know the answer to these questions as well.

ANSWER: A very high quality house paint would be fine. When you go to the
paint store to get paint, talk with the paint person. Tell them what you
are painting.

ANSWER: An airless sprayer would be the best apllicator, but if you can't
use one, use a roller.

ANSWER: Very Important!!! Make sure the home is cleaned prior to painting.
A metal sided home needs to be brush cleaned. Use something like Simple
Green found in most hardware stores. Wal-Mart usually carries it. Most
older homes have started to oxidize, meaning, you can take your hand and
run it along the exterior, and chalky paint comes off on your hand. This
must be removed BEFORE you paint the home. The extra money you would save
by not renting an airless sprayer, you will probably spend buying xtra
buckets of paint. If there is "moss, or mildew" on the home, you have a
moisture problem somewhere. Either you have a leak inside your home, your
under trees dripping tree stuff on the home, of in a very damp area,
or...... the home has not been cleaned and painded in a very long time.

Hope this helps some. If any more questions are needed, contact me direct.
