A treasure Dennis Huffman found in the trash 20 years ago will soon be
returned to the family of its creator.

Huffman found a painting he thought looked interesting in the trash at
Fort Carson, Colo., two decades ago. The painting was discarded from a
museum on the fort that was torn down. The pieces deemed valuable in
the museum were shipped to other museums. Those that weren't were
thrown away.

"I agreed it wasn't very valuable monetarily," Huffman said. "I was
sure it had some sentimental value for the family."

Now, thanks to the help of an international officer at Fort
Leavenworth, Huffman will be returning the painting to the artist's
son in Germany.
