Re: Limited Collectors Edition Offset Lithographs For Sale
We are moving into full-time RVing and national travel at the end of the month.
We have decided to find good homes for our collection, rather than store them,
as we have no children to pass them on to. We can arrange payment through
PayPal. We will consider all reasonable offers and discounts for large
purchases. Many of these prints are signed by a number of aces and are framed
for archival display. As you know, quality framing can cost as much or more
than the prints themselves. We are the original purchasers of all these
prints.

Zero Fighter Sweep - #360 of 1250, 38" w. x 31" h. framed, signed by Kenneth
A. Walsh, WWII Ace, 21 victories, Medal of Honor recipient, depicting the air
raid on Guadalcanal on May 13, 1943, in which 2nd Lt. Walsh scored 3 victories
in this battle. The air raid alarm on Guadalcanal sounded at 1135 on 13 May
1943. The island radar had picked up a large formation of " bogies "
approaching Guadalcanal from the northwest. Minutes later the air was split
with the sound of twelve 2,000 h.p. Pratt & Whitney R-2800-8 engines roaring to
life as a flight of F4U-1 Corsairs from Marine Fighter Squadron 124 (VMF-124)
were scrambled to intercept a Zero fighter sweep. Twenty-six-year-old First
Lieutenant Kenneth A. Walsh was the first to be airborne. Ground control
vectored Walsh and his four-plane division north to the Florida Islands. As he
approached the intercept point, he spotted the "bogies" - a formation of P-38s.
At that moment, Walsh heard ground control vector Major William E. Gise (C.O.
VMF-124) and his flight northwest to the Russell Islands at "Angels 20."
Turning back due west, Walsh radioed Gise that he was abeam Savo and would
proceed to join him. Triple-matted with blue metal frame - $350, sale $315.

the many nearby factories and airfields were often out flying on test or

about these new flying marvels, their pilots and combat exploits. Weekends will
often find them at the perimeter fence of the nearest airfield for a closer
look at the "latest" Navy or Air Corps fighter. Print size: 37"w X 27"h,

16 victories, WWII, double-matted in dk. blue with white trim, blue metal
frame and non-glare glass, original cost of print only was $100 on sale - $200
sale.
Robert Curry wrote on 10-23-00: "Well Dave, I painted this because it seemed
a good opportunity to expand the name of a very interesting aircraft to include
the background in which it was flying. The name of the piece is simply
"Lightning." It is a poster, although a very high quality one, expensively
produced with two varnish coats. The plane and the lightning bolts are glossy
while everything else is matte. If framed sans glass the effect is quite nice,
and it won't finger mark the way un-varnished ones will. There is nothing
printed in the margins of the paper other than maybe a printed in Canada notice
or copyright info. It is an unlimited edition, and I printed 1000.
