Let's begin this year restoring a forgotten veteran tradition... wear your Honorable Discharge lapel pin or select one of your service ribbons to wear on your collar, lapel or blouse on Veterans Day for everyone to see. Those who see your
pride in having served will remember that the only forgotten war or veteran is the one we stop thinking about.
Make this Veteran's Day of 2009 the first of a renewed tradition. By showing your respect for your service you encourage all who see your symbol of service to respect those who served.
Older veterans: Do this for the younger vets. Our grandfathers and our fathers wore their Discharge Pin or a ribbon. Let's teach our young that military service is the highest contribution a person can make in their lifetime... something we
all realize only when we grow older.
