Mat 19:21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell
that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in
heaven: and come and follow me.
Mat 19:22 But when the YOUNG MAN heard that saying, he went away
sorrowful: for he had great possessions.

Mar 12:41 And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the
people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in
much.
Mar 12:42 And there came a certain POOR WIDOW, and she threw in two
mites, which make a farthing.
Mar 12:43 And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them,
Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than
all they which have cast into the treasury:
Mar 12:44 For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her
want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.

All or nothing, and it is all or nothing; there is no lukewarm
salvation.

Religious people don’t waste your time with theology, it won’t save
you.

Find the will of the Lord in your life, like the ‘young man’ and the
‘poor widow’, and DO what He says (John 2:5 His mother saith unto the
servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it).

You must lose your life, and only He can show you the way. If you are
lost as to what you must do then you must show Him why He should
bother with you. In other words, DO SOMETHING to get His attention!
Read the stories, did not the 'young man' and the 'poor widow' get His
attention? One made the right chose. Get off your arse and do
something.

You people who think you 'have it' through your religion, wake up, you
have to lay down your life. All or nothing.

God is not slack as you call slack.

Bible quoting will not make a person pure, neither will it substitute
for a man losing His life in the name of the Lord.

1 John, Chapter 1, a testimony of those men long gone
who bore witness to having met and spoke with the Christ
himself.

Read it Barry, then prove it a false testimony, and mind you
I said *PROVE* it false, I didn't say create doubt about it.

You see to believe you are competent and able, without any help
from anyone, *prove* it is false.

A person losing their life for Christ simply means giving up
your own agenda and taking up the calling of God, it doesn't
mean that one should kill oneself.

You call this proof ? You're a failure Barry, you couldn't convince
even the weakest of believers that you are correct. What is your
proof that God doesn't exist, the fact that you've never seen Him ?

Is that all you've got ??? Some hard evidence might help, like
a body perhaps ? Or maybe a rock signed by God saying that He
passed away a day or two ago. The lack of your inability to
produce Him isn't a sign that he doesn't exist, it's sign of
you not knowing where to find Him. If you look hard enough and
long enough you can't help but find Him. Several have already.

a certain preacher man would often say mark this in the
margin of your Bible and if your Bible is to good for you
to write in then get one you can write in. then one day
the same preacher man said this profound thing, "its not
how you mark your Bible its how your Bible marks you."

I think all Christians should lose their lives for the same of the
naive.
Christians should be baptised by full immersion for at least
15 minutes.

You are mistaken. We can test for the effects of characteristics
assigned to God. An almighty and good God would ensure there
were only good things. If you are a deist I can't disprove your God.
Since we know capital G God does not exist we also know Jesus
does not exist, therefore we know any testimonies that reference
Jesus are untrue.
I hope I explained that better this time.

sad what religious people do with the words 'should not'.

an English major told me the word 'but' negates the

Following means...all, and nothing less, or a man is simply playing
games with himself.

There is no compromise, God is not taken in with religion whatever a
man's religious persuasion is.

It is all your heart or nothing.

So where is the proof ? I'd like to see some hard evidence that
He doesn't exist. Surely you can produce that without any trouble,

I know where He draws the line, and it is right and just!

It is not about qualifying and obeying rules, it is about relationship
first. From there you don't have to worry about qualifications and
the like as they are a natural byproduct of a right relationship.
Would you cheat on your wife, would you knowingly degrade your
relationship with her? No? Why? The answer is obvious isn't it? Then
how can a man have a right relationship with God and clutch to his
breast anything that destroys it? Either he has a true relationship
or he has not, and if he has a right relationship, tell me WHAT IS
THERE IN THE WORLD worth destroying if for!!!

It does not matter what the majority are. Man can't measure God's
standards by his own.

There is no compromise.

All things are possible with God.

Make no bones about it, all your heart, or nothing.

God is almighty is able to do anything, it just depends on how
important He is to a man and how earnest that man is...that's all.

(Luke 11:5-10)...so true.

There is no need to do that Gladys. God is supposedly everywhere at
once so, to prove He doesn't exist anywhere, it is only necessary to
prove he doesn't exists in any one place.

If you don't listen to him, and to repent of our sins daily, and follow ALL his

relationship with him other than a bad relationship.

Yes, God calls us to love one another - it's that obvious. To give of ourselves
is to follow..

He can't. That's just it. But your mistake is only half over if you only think
in terms of clutching evil to your breast. You have typically fulfilled the
other half in NOT doing what Jesus teaches us to do, like attending Mass weekly,
receiving the Eucharist (lack spiritual life) or not feeding the hungry,
clothing the naked, giving drink to the thirsty, etc.

Yes Jesus said we all live in the swill of sin daily. It's all in your hands if
you want to climb out of the hole.

You can't do it. Jesus said it's impossible for man to avoid regular sin. If
he thinks he does, he does not have the truth.

Only in the sense that neither God nor Hell exist.

From the Catholic Encyclopedia. It says everywhere and in all things,
not everywhere except Hell.

Doctrinal

All solid devotion and devotional practices must be founded upon the
truths of faith, and these truths must be borne in mind when treating
of the presence of God from an ascetical and devotional point of view.
First, it is of faith that God is present by His Essence everywhere
and in all things by reason of His Immensity. (Creed of St.
Athanasius; Council of Lateran, c. "Firmiter"; Vatican Council, Sess.
III, c. 1.) It is also of faith that God is in an especial manner
really and substantially present in the souls of the just. This
indwelling of God in the souls of the just is attributed by what
theologians call appropriation to the Holy Ghost, but in reality it is
common to the three Divine Persons.

Disagree with you there, Duke. Even the Catholics teach that God
exists in hell, but is inaccessible.

Yes, he does. And it can't be proven that God isn't in any one place
at any point in time.

Psa 139:1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. O LORD, thou hast
searched me, and known me.
Psa 139:2 Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou
understandest my thought afar off.
Psa 139:3 Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art
acquainted with all my ways.
Psa 139:4 For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou
knowest it altogether.
Psa 139:5 Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand
upon me.
Psa 139:6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I
cannot attain unto it.
Psa 139:7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee
from thy presence?
Psa 139:8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: IF I MAKE MY
BED IN HELL, BEHOLD, THOU ART THERE.

I believe it cannot be proved to you. However, juries show that
"proof" is not "proof" is not "proof," and people disagree on proof.
For 50 years, the Piltdown skull was "proof." For others, it was
not. To some scientists, the harm of smoking could never be proved
because they were on the tobacco payroll. To some, the miracle of
Avastin was proved daily because at a billion bucks profit a year,
their paychecks told them so. The human intellect is like that.

Sure they do. Gladys, for example, believes that the universe is 6000

Good, you atlast want to try your hand at being "intellectual", to use your
choice of words.

Please do tell us what even in principle "proof" could be brought to bear
on this question?

If you can not then the empirical program it evokes is irrelevant and the
entire question an empty gesture.

That leaves your opinion hanging and a faith based assertion only.

God's purposes are rather opaque to mortals. :-)

But we do have this verse that Linda quoted for you:

Isn't He?

Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and
the Word was God.
Joh 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.
Joh 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any
thing made that was made.
Joh 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
Joh 1:5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness
comprehended it not.
