TORAH CHANGE, PART #3 OF 4

A continuation of the transcription of Chapter 12,
"The Abolition of the Commandments", from
"When Moshiach Comes", by Rabbi Yehudah Chayoun
of Bnei Brak,Targum/Feldheim Publishers, 1994.

THE COMMANDMENTS TO BE ABOLISHED

Nachalas Binyamin and Noam Megadim contend that only
"negative" commandments will be abolished [See Sedei
Chemed, maareches 40, rule 218]. Yet Kuntres Divrei
Chachamim posits that only "positive" precepts will be rescinded [See
Divrei Chachamim, ch.53],
even though
the gemara quoted above discusses kilayim, a "negative" commandment.

These opinions aside, the following is a partial list of
*prohibitions* that will not apply in the future:

1) Eating pig: Ritva, Rabbeinu Bechaya, the Chassam Sofer,
Radbaz, and the Gra Pilagi (citing Ramban) all quote a
midrash stating that a pig is called a "chazir" in Hebrew because
Hashem is destined "lehachaziro",
to return it
to the Jewish people [See Ritva on Kiddushin 49b;
Rabbeinu Bechaya, Toras Moshe (the Chasam Sofer),
and Avraham Anochi (Gra Pilagi) on "Shemini"; and
Radvaz, vil. 2, ch. 828]. However, I have found no
such midrash or Ramban [See Ohr HaChaim, "Shemini"].

2) Eating animals that have not been ritually slaughtered:
The Midrash describes how the livyasan will slaughter the
shor habor to be eaten in the days of Moshiach, for "a new
Torah" shall go forth" (VaYikra Rabbah 13:3) [Cf.
Yeshayahu 51:4], i.e., a novel reinterpretation of the Torah
will permit such slaughter [See the Chasam Sofer, Responsa,
Yoreh Deah, ch. 19].

3) Eating fat of neveilos and treifos [See the VaYikra Rabbah 13:3].

4) Eating non-kosher animals [See Midrash Shochar Tov on
Tehillim 146].

5) Eating non-kosher fish: The Gemara asserts that the righteous will
one day feast on livyasan
[leviathan] [See
Bava Basra 75a], a non-kosher fish [See Yerushalmi, Shabbos 9, end],
indicating
that such fish will be permitted.

6) Eating the gid hanasheh [See Maharshal, Binyan Shlomo,
second intro].

7) Eating cheilev, blood, and shechutei chutz [See Mikdash Me'at,
vol. 5, ch. 146, citing Sefer
HaIkkarim].

8) Niddah: Based on a midrash cited by Sefer HaMetzaref, Taharas
Mayim states that this prohibition
will be
repealed [See Taharas Mayim, ch, 74, citing Midrash Shochar Tov on
Tehillim 147].
Alternatively, the midrash may mean that women will cease
to become niddos.

9) Kilayim [See Niddah 61b].

10) Marrying mamzerim and nesinim [See Kiddushin 72b].

================

In the above, note the sentence:

"The Midrash describes how the livyasan will slaughter the
shor habor to be eaten in the days of Moshiach, for "a new
Torah" shall go forth" (VaYikra Rabbah 13:3) [Cf.
Yeshayahu 51:4]"

So some of Judaism's sages said that "a new Torah shall go forth".

====================

Zev only responded to part 4 of 4, which involved changes in
blessings.

Zev never responded to this part 3 which eliminated
laws of kosher foods,
laws of unclean women,
laws of marrying bastards.
