Nope. It is the garbage collection of newsgroups, simply alt for
alternative. The difference in "rules" is that voting is not a
requirement for creation of a new newsgroup and nobody cares
about stuff like alt.0a.fred-hall.cats, alt.0a.fred-hall.nancy-boy
and tons of others.
There are useful newsgroups in alt however, mostly in the
alt.support.<your favorite disease or disabling condition>
As blogs have become more popular usenet participation has
decreased, a lot.
I've had to abbreviate the distribution a little.

Both origins are considered correct actually.
Are you always a shit, or are we getting you on a bad day, Sunshine?

And even less people give a flying fuck about you.
So your point is...?

Heh. alt.support.prettyboy is on your sub list, isn't it?

No worries, I fixed it. Made an appropriate addition, too.

Bzzzzt. I was there during the process. Your version of truth,
justice, and the American way" aren't. Looks from here like you
never have a good day, eh?

Doesn't matter. Usenet is for discussions and for
exchanging ideas.

Your ideas suck. They really really suck.

No, dearie, I'll never compete with you.

Thanks, my isp refused the former distro so I'll fix it again
to actually be distributed. Toyota folks have no interest
in spoogebrain's output.
Sanforized, I thought that by now you would be relaxing by the TV, drink in
hand and sandwich on the plate, not pushing keys!!! I'm glad to see you are
still in this NG!!! At least I know one or two of the return customers have
something worth reading, to say!
