Hi.

I would like to take a moment to honor the memory of Walter
Cronkite.

When I was growing up, Uncle Walter was *the* news. He was a man of
consumate integrity, truth, intelligence and calm. He set the
standard of what a TV news anchor, and any journalist, could - and
should - be. He could be a steady hand on our collective shoulder
during difficult times like the Kennedy assassination and Vietnam War,
and an excited cheerleader for great moments like that day nearly 40
years ago when we first set foot on the moon.

On a personal note, Uncle Walter once even covered my college. In the
late 1970's, he sent a correspondence to Cal State Sonoma (now Sonoma
State University) to do a piece on our P.E. Frisbee class. At the
end, he concluded it like he always did:

"And that's the way it is."

You were, and *are*, a great man, Walter Cronkite.

Godspeed in this next phase of your journey.
