about the death threat since Jan 20th 2001. That's the date on
the e-mail you received. Ever since then you have been talking
about the FBI & in your own way "accusing" a couple of us
of being in on it. I would like to get this cleared up as I don't
think this ng wants to hear about it for another 12 months. I know
that I'm sick of hearing about it
I would like to get permission from you to post the e-mail
attachment that I opened for you. This is the
"death threat" from HOSTGui...@aol.com that is
complete with headers. Alex can verify that I have not amended
it as this was the same thing that I forwarded on to him asking
for his help.
There were 2 others which I don't think need to be posted but will
if you wish. These 2 were sent to your personal e-mail. One had
the subject "free weed LEGAL too!" The second one was "saw
your profile & found it interesting"
This will allow everyone to see what you're getting so upset about
& maybe we can put this to rest.

The FBI is handling the investigations I prefer for them to be made public when
the FBI wishes them to become knowledgeable word for word.

which included my family members, that means my children, grandchildren,
husband and so on...

My boots don't leak but for quite some time now I have had to keep my hip boots
on and wade deep and long to get get thru all this mess. The least you can do
is keep your leaky boots on and keep wading and waiting it out just like the
rest of us.
Wouldn't be a bad idea to also strt searching for a lawyer for some legal
advise. I have and others have and I am not the only one recieving a death
threat.

The whole thing is kind of interesting though..if you do a google
groups search on fem...@sdc1.sfba.home.com you will find
about 90 something posts from this person. Looks like femail3
is a server rather then a screen name. And from a cursory check
it looks like the person was logging into this server from
somewhere else. I'll post more when I figure it out. At any
rate... it looks they have been reported for a abuse several
times, and if it was me wouldn't you think I couldn't still be
posting from the same ISP?

Even I am a little confused at this point.. but it looks like the
person was taking advantage of a loophole in @home's security.
As far as I can tell if you knew the right information you could
send mail from their femailX @home server from anywhere. If
you read the google groups many people sent mail to the abuse
dept. So the trail would then lead to AOL. This reeks of hacker,
but I cant figure out who Diana pissed off to get a hacker on
her tail. So if there were not any similar leaks in AOL... some
information could be traced there. It also could be that on the
Spam news groups this is a known loophole, because the
security leak apparently was commonly used to send spam
making it seem it was coming from @home rather then the
real ISP. From a purely technical standpoint I find it kind of
clever. At any rate...my assertion still stands that it doesn't
take a year to track this stuff down. Still trying to find out
more info.

office, but was also used by quite a few @Home users.
The first two emails were sent from cn2176757-a.jamison1.pa.home.com through
femail3.sdc1.sfba.home.com. The second (free weed) is obviously spam.
The third was from adsl-64-160-96-235.dsl.bkfd14.pacbell.net. It seems to
be spam.
The first one, the one with the death threat, seems most likely to be
someone trying to get a spammer shut down in a very evil way or someone who
didn't believe that the spamware was set up correctly. The second email was
actually sent about 20 minutes before the first was sent. My best guess is
that someone sent out some spam and didn't realize that he had some type of
Trojan. Someone who got the spam was highly annoyed, found the Trojan and
spammed the original list with the death threat message.

Do you honestly believe the FBI will investigate an email like this? I think
the FBI have more important work to do.
And it's a year ago you received this email, wouldn't you think you should
have heard something by now if they are really investigating this?
I haven't seen anything on the news saying they have arrested someone for
sending this email to you. But maybe I just missed that news broadcast?
Maybe it's helpfull for you to keep a few months rest from this ng and then

Diana did not share this with the group when it happened. Anyone who's been on
internet and/or IM/ICQ (for any length of time) can vouch for the fact that they
too have received similar "communications". These are sickos and/or immature
adolescents whose intentions (via IM/e-mail) are to evoke exactly the response
that Diana had. (fear and paranoia).
ICQ permits us to filter them out...and that's what I do (consider the
source..and move on). Never lost a bit of sleep over such messages.
I suspect that the FBI has piled her request on top of zillions similar (and
know very well that this is not a "true" threat)
I don't think that taking a break from this NG is right for Diana. She's right
where she's supposed to be. What she has to do, is see those communications as
not just her being singled out. It's many of us. Time to let go and move on.

Being on the Dog boards and fostering responsible pet ownership and getting
involved in anti abuse causes has made me a target for some people because of
my strong opinions on the subject.

fond of me and have written me some not so nice e mails and yes there have been
threats. I just delete their mail and be done with it.

was secured so that only @Home users could use it or if it was entirely
open, as I didn't go through many of the headers from the archived spam.
The default settings for a lot of mail servers used to be to keep the server
open, but more and more are starting to default to closed. Some of them
default to "Anyone in this domain can send email through me" which would
have been all of home.com instead of only the office the machine was
supposed to be used for. I'd have to dig a little more to see which way it
was set up, and I'm just not that interested in finding out how a mail
server on @Home's network was set up a year ago. ;)

This game as you refer to it goes even beyond just the death threat. You think

The FBI is still investigating and until the FBI tells me their findings behind
this whole mess I will continue to be alert and will continue to update others
so they too can remain alert.
As I have stated several times I pray that Rosie was not involved in this death
threat.

when the FBI has been in contact with others who have received death threats

Over ten years ago, my youngest son's father was fighting me for custody
of him because in his exact words,"If I wind up having to pay you child
support, I'll take him away from you." He drug me into court every time
he thought about it. He said,"Tough. You'll just have to get used to
it." This torment went on for two and a half years. (From the goo-goo
eyes traded back and forth between him and the judge in court, people
who went with me told me they thought he was "servicing" the judge out
of court.) Finally, I got tired of the BULL SHIT and moved to a nearby
county. I had gotten permission from my lawyer before I moved. I still
have the letter the judge sent me, telling me that she as giving him
full custody because I had moved to a nearby county.
He had custody for six weeks because his lawyer manipulated the length I
had to wait to appeal. During that time, my son got sick...sick enough
that I could tell it talking to him on the phone. I told his father he
needed to take him to a doctor. He refused to do it.
About a week later, I was finally "allowed" to talk to him on the phone
again. The little five year old was so sick he could barely talk. I went
to my lawyer and asked him to make him take the poor kid to a doctor. He
told me to go up to the grandmother's house and demand that he either
take him or let me take him to a doctor. He hid out from me until he
thought I had gone. FOOLED HIM!!! The jackass called the cops because I
was demanding that my son see a doctor. I knew I wouldn't be of any help
to my son if I was in jail, so I went back down the hill to town.
There, I found a pay phone and started to continue my plea. My son
answered the phone and told me that his father was talking to a cop to
get me arrested for trespassing.
I drove straight to the sheriff's office and told the sergeant that I
was there to turn myself in if they were looking for me. He called the
unit that had been sent up the hills and asked him if there were any
charges against me. There weren't any and I drove off without looking
over my shoulder.
A week later, we were in court for the appeal. His lawyer got me on the
witness stand and asked me if I would be surprised if he told me there
was a warrant out for my arrest for criminal trespassing. I was able to
look him right in the eye and say,"Yes." When he asked why, I looked
straight at him and told him what had happened an told him to go ask
Sgt. Williams if he didn't believe me. The lawyer's mouth dropped at
least a foot. He had just caught his client in another lie.
If I have to keep looking over my shoulder for the FBI, I *WILL* go to
the FBI and turn myself in and take any threats, that I'm supposedly
being investigated for and that's being held over my head right along
when I do.
Soooooo, they will arrest me for my 'crimes' or someone will be made
look just as foolish as my son's father and his lawyer looked. I'm
putting it to a close one way or another. This is how I have always been
all my life.
This is either bullshit harassment or it's real. I expect to either see
a retraction of all threats, actual or insinuated, or we can end this
'investigation' on me or on the other party. I'm getting drained too
much to continue this charade.
If there is no retraction by tomorrow, I'll call the TBI and get the
local FBI phone number. I might even call my TBI relative and get
prepared for tomorrow.
This is my ultimatum....shit or get off the pot, TONIGHT!!!!!!!!

I have been contacted by the FBI before many times. And by a few of the
other enforcement agencies, as well. I even have a NASA poster that was
given to us (the RCN minions) for help that we did on one of their cases.

First, let me take the opportunity to declare that whether or not a woman
has boobies has NOTHING to do with her attractiveness to me, physical or
otherwise. If my ex-wife had nothing more than her soft, round, firm,
silky-smooth, utterly kissable cheeks to offer me, she'd still have been
just as attractive. Her excess weight was similarly moot when it came to her
beauty, or at least my perception of it and my desire for her. So nobody
need think the lack (or presence) of physical, eh, curves or proportions
makes one less beautiful. The original post was using a "lack" of them,
metaphorically, to connote a lack of bravery or willingness/ability to
"fight" for their convictions. That's all. I was just trying to lighten up
the thread. It apparently worked, at least somewhat. :~)
Also, you *DO* know, of course, that I was only joking about the photos...

Hey, and who's that woman who includes messages to the president at the
bottom of her abuse reports? You know, the one who thinks that the
Soviets are using Sputnik Spy Satellites to read her mind and make her
do what they want her to do. I've actually got a hardcopy of one of her
