ME Awareness Week E-Cards. Why not send your "Best Wishes" to a
friend <http://www.meresearch.org.uk/about/ecard.html> on one of our
<http://www.meresearch.org.uk/about/ecard.html> special e-cards to mark
ME
Awareness Week. We have three to choose from: Inner lights with ME

intriguing Lotus in a Seemingly Round Bowl. Just make your choice,
create
your own personal message, and click! We shall send your friend the
e-card
during ME Awareness Week.

Shopping for Research. We are now registered with
<http://www.meresearch.org.uk/friends/shopping.html> UshopUgive, the
internet shopping website. It's quick, it's free and (with your help)
shopping this way could generate significant funds (on average a
generous 2%
of your total spend) for the advances in biomedical research that we
all
want to see. AND For a one-week period during ME Awareness Week - from
9th
to 15th May 2005 - UshopUgive will be
<http://www.ushopugive.com/default.asp?charid=637> donating 50p to us
for
every user who registers free on the
<http://www.ushopugive.com/default.asp?charid=637> UshopUgive site and
indicates on the site that they are doing so on behalf of MERGE.

A lark in the Clear Air. Our chairman, Dr Vance Spence, will be
taking part in a whirlwind series of talks and interviews all over
<http://www.meresearch.org.uk/friends/events.html> Ireland during ME
Awareness Week to stress the need for biomedical research into ME.

scientific
paper has just been published which strengthens the arguments for
abnormal
redox signalling in the muscle of CFS patients.

Ways To Help Us
MERGE receives no government funding and relies on donations from other
charitable trusts, and from donations and legacies from members of the
public. <http://www.meresearch.org.uk/friends/helpmerge.html#online>
Donations through our website to help us "energise ME research" can now
be
made via the Charities Aid Foundation efundraising service. Also, our
donations page has all the information you need on making a
<http://www.meresearch.org.uk/friends/helpmerge.html#order> regular
donation
to us by Standing order, Inland Revenue Self-Assessment, or the Give As
You
Earn scheme. For example, if your workplace has a

and
you are taxed through PAYE, you can donate to MERGE direct from your
wages,
and it's tax-free!
