I don't have Anita's e-mail address in my address book, so I believe that this site must have been hacked. A friend of mine that lives in another state said he got one from a friend of his too. Not from Anita! From a friend of his. That one said she was robbed in England. At least they are diversified!

The crooks are really working overtime. I get e-mail messages from MYSELF!

Site hacking is not in it as far as I can see.
We haven't heard from Anita in some time and most likely
someone on the list has not been adequately careful with their security
and a list of people has been stolen from contact/address lists/books.
This allowed them to forge the header details.
Some of the malware out there is specifically designed to
perform this sort of theft. As well lots of people are using
sites like Google to deal with their mail which I certainly
consider a very high security risk. My own mail is actually
via a Google account which is provided by DSLExtreme.
I find the site very insecure. Google itself imposes additional
security measures at times. I store no address books on the
site and clean out the mail on that account. on a daily basis
unless I am too sick to do.
Sorry I took so long to reply but I have been ill lately
and have even less energy than usual.

But how likely do you think that a woman as sick
as she would be running off to Scotland.

82 year old friend of mine, same message -- he said he heard from concerned friends all over the country, but nobody was taken in -- the scammers of course wanted money wire transferred. He had to have his email address and password changed. Marnia

Yes, I was hacked with a virus though Facebook, I think.
