In the outbreaks, did it spread to other places nearby? For
example, did the Incline Village outbreak spread to other
places near Lake Tahoe?
Did the Chapel Hill outbreak spread to Raleigh or Durham?
What about people who just had an occasional dinner in
Chapel Hill?
Did day visitors (e.g. parasailers) to Lake Tahoe during the
summer or ski visitors get the disease?
Did it keep spreading? That is, did people visiting the
outbreak location after the outbreak had subsided contract
the disease? What about 1 year before the outbreak was
noticed?
What parts of upstate New York were affected? Was it only
one outbreak and isolated to one place?
There was one hospital outbreak in which most sufferers had
taken a route to work through a hallway. Was it thoroughly
scanned for pathogens and toxins? Did others who walked to
work through it afterward get the disease?
Do we have enough information to distinguish an infectious
trigger vs. an infectious cause for any of the outbreaks?
Do we know for certain that it was infectious? Was there
spraying of pesticides or other factors that could have
contributed or caused the outbreak?
Have we completely ruled out tick-borne diseases?
Using strict disease definitions such as the 2003 Canadian
definition, have we determined that people who live with
people who have had the disease for decades are safe?
Have we determined the rate at which the disease is
increasing? Have we determined patterns of infection?
If there are not answers for these, why?
Can you recommend a mailing list for these questions? (I
