Have you all been able to upload this, or am I way behind everyone? Have
two VERY bad infections so not up-to-date, and now only three days until
Christmas and no shopping achieved or Greetings Cards dispatched. No car,
Ice and Snow, so movement limited. Dare'nt have a fall and break a bone, or
I will be EXTREMELY INCONVENIENCED !
Panic stations. Next year, I will commence my organisation for Christmas in
September. Before the BC and the awful reaction to the drugs, I shopped all
year through, and was extremely well prepared. Now have to acquire Postage
Stamps and send. All others will have Greeting via this.
Regards Rita UK.
Christmas....I continue to become more realistic about what I can accomplish...what is the most meaningful to me to use my seriously limited energy reserves on. Shopping is not on the list. Although I have a very large extended family, this year gifts were limited to my adult children (4) and my grandchildren (3). And they were ordered on line and sent directly. Their "wrapping" was a cardboard box, but I've heard no complaints.

I've been forced to really limit my activity around the holidays this year. I had a bad infection that hung on and on, and finally a third round of antibiotics was taking care of it just as a cold came my way. So we've extended the antibiotics for several days more, but it really laid me out totally. I took my plastic and worked the internet for all I could. Kim's idea for holiday gifts is right on the mark. I had a lot sent and told my son to just put bows on the boxes. We are sending a few wrapped, but those we did purchase when I was on my feet.
I used to make many of our gifts, but this year I made two chefs aprons (easy, but I have to alter them), and I am going to machine embroider two guest towels and a label for a quilt. That's it. The quilt is an old one and it needs a label.
Being an eccentric has it's compensations. No one thinks it odd when boxes come unwrapped inside. I refuse to pay $3-$5 to have something wrapped in bland paper. I like the gift bag and tissue combination. It's all reusable and extremely easy to do!
Love to all,
Anita

I have been able to watch the videos, and for me, one of the best parts was how happy and enthusiastic she was. She is so delighted to find a way to potentially help so many people. It was lovely.

I am in awe that you actually make gifts.
My efforts at the holidays are purely internet-related. I go to
amazon (sorry, don't mean to advertise) and click gifts to come to
my house and I'll wrap minimally. Or I send gifts to relatives via
amazon. And I agree; I do not pay $4-5 to get them wrapped.
(And I forgot this time to even enclose a free greeting with the
gifts.)
My one task is taking fudge made by a friend to the post office,
and possibly going to one bookstore near the health food store I
go to once a week.
Now that there's snow outside and probably ice, I don't even
go out in this, fearing a fall.
I fear no one is getting a card as I have no energy to buy them or
write them out.

Just to confess that I wrapped two boxes of fudge the other night. It was a
CFIDS moment--or hour. I couldn't cut the brown paper bag right to use for
wrapping. I had the worst edges ever. I had to keep cutting and fixing the
edges. If this were for an art class, I'd have failed. Then I couldn't
find the scissors right next to me. Then I couldn't use the tape dispenser
(for large tape rolls). It was an enigma. If it were an IQ test, I would
have failed. So I did the old rip off the tape method but I kept losing the
edges.
I am the worst wrapper in my city of eight million.
Luckily my sense of humor kicked in and I remembered my sister's golden
words when my nephew was young and had art projects. She said that she
didn't know a requirement for motherhood, was "arts and crafts."
It's not in our DNA.

I cheer Kim's way of dealing with holiday gifts.
