Hilbert, not that slacker Hillstrom.

Seems Hilbert was arguing with the men-only University of Goettingen
to hire Emmy Noether as lecturer (Hilbert and some others wanted her
there to help them understand and work with Einstein's theory of
relativity), and in the course of the argument Hilbert uttered the
following immortal words:

"We are a university, not a bathhouse."

Didn't work, of course, so Emmy signed on as unpaid lecturer, until
she was finally forced by the Nazis to flee Germany as not only a
woman mathematician but a Jewish pacifist, to Bryn Mawr, blessed be
they in that one respect, anyway.
