Lt. Colonel David Grossman describes in an article Sheep, Wolves and
Sheepdog, a society that needs paladins, protectors, peacekeepers and
warriors. Just as the sheepdog is tasked with protection of the flock
from the wolves that prey upon the sheep, so is it also the duty of
these public servants to protect the civilian populace. Nevertheless,
we must all strive to be a sheepdog because protection really should
be a personal issue. Yes, while the police are empowered with as our
safeguards, they are truly overworked and underpaid. You should rely
on no one for your individual security or the security of your family.
You must develop your own personal "Agoge" to learn the skills
necessary to protect yourself. As my friend Tony Blauer says you must
learn to "Be Your Own Bodyguard". Tony's website is www.tonyblauer.com.
If you are looking for realistic training, you will find no better.

Throughout history, all great warriors trained diligently in their
individual disciplines. We were most recently reminded of the Great
Spartan warriors by the movie 300. In Steven Pressfield book The Gates
of Fire, the agoge is described as a warrior's formal education and
training process that all Spartan citizens were expected to dedicate
their life to completing. This process is not unlike the modern day
process that most Israeli citizens complete....
