I many years ago learned a lesson about calling 911.
Watching game, nice day, windows open. Hear woman screaming help, help.
Look outside, seems to be neighbors house across the street. I call 911.
Answer 248 real stupid questions, most of them with "I don't know". :30
later cops roll in. I see nothing much more so I forgot about it. That is
till months later when I get served with a subpoena. Seems it was a
domestic. I have to go to court to testify about how I knew nothing and saw
nothing. So I take a day off, sit in court for hours. I see the couple
there, they have long since moved. As soon as his case is called, Wife jumps
up and runs out the door. They call her name a few times, then dismiss case
as she is not there. Judge thanks me for my time. Since it was Friday and
Wife was with me, I did not say what I was thinking. Did not feel like
spending the weekend in jail.
I learned from it though. I keep a cell phone or 2 around that are no longer
active. They will reach 911. When they ask my name and such I make shit up
off the top of my head.
