>A Nice Lawyer Story
(one of four in existence)

One afternoon a wealthy lawyer was riding in his shiny limousine when he
saw two men along the roadside eating grass. Disturbed, he ordered his
driver to stop and he got out to investigate the situation.

He asked one man, "Why are you eating grass?"

"We don't have any money for food," the poor man replied. "We HAVE TO eat
grass."

Shocked, the lawyer said, "Well, then, you can come with me to my house and
I'll feed you!"

"But sir. I have a wife and two children with me. They are over there,
under that tree."

"Bring them along," the lawyer replied.

Turning to the other poor man he said, "You come with us, too."

The second man said, "But sir, I
also have a wife and SIX children with me!"

"Bring them all!" the lawyer answered. They all jammed into the huge limo.

Once underway, one of the poor fellows turned to the lawyer and said, "Sir,
you are too kind. Thank you for taking all of us with you."

Genuinely touched, the lawyer replied, "Glad to do it. You'll really love
my place; the grass is almost a foot high!"

When one encounters a lawyer (other than by seeking out their services),
the lawyer is often not seeking to make a new friend.

Hmmm. In one situation, he's out to
get all your money. In the other,
he's out to get all your money.

Where does this "friend" parameter fit in?

I had a lawyer who was royal jerk. Good thing he was on my side. He
was an ex-DA.

Some lady driver rear-ended my TransAm back in 1993, and refused to
answer any of my insurance company's calls. It was minor damage, but
my ins co wanted to replace the whole bumper. I would of settled for a
little paint job. I called this lawyer for advice, and he made one
phonecall. He threatened to get the cops to tow her car, and sell it
at auction. Then dig up crap on her. He didn't tell me what he asked
for, and I got a check for $5000 in the mail. Later, he said its free,
he enjoyed messing with her.

Not necessarily knee jerk; some have had bad experiences with lawyers, most
have experienced lawyers' fees.

And think about it - contact with lawyers is rarely voluntary; it's
associated with pain, crime, and stress - you never heard of Pavlov's dog?

Oh yeah?

I found a bottle on the beach. When I uncorked it, out popped a genie. He
gave me one wish. I asked for a 10-inch pr***, and the Genie shrunk my
lawyer!

The version of that I heard had "Republican" in place of lawyer. I think the
version I heard was closer to true.

I know and am related to many lawyers. Some are real nice, some are
reall assholes. I'd say the assholes have the edge.
