Freddie Kruger Sparking Glove Effect

This is for all you crazy bastards out there like me who own, or in my
case built from scratch a Freddie Kruger glove hand, complete in every
detail with razor sharp talon blades.

You can cause the tips of the blades to shoot off sparks when you run
them across metal by wiring the glove up to a car battery. I
shouldn't have to tell you to be careful and insulate your hand. If
you build the glove to scale (freeze frame the DVD) there will be
leather between your fingers and the split brass piping used in the
fingers.

Connect the positive terminal to the glove and the negative to the
metal plating you're going to scrape. Gives off a nice shower of
sparks.

For the faint of heart I'll include a completely non-dangerous method
for accomplishing the sae effect: Glue lighter flints to the tips of
the blades. The sparks aren't as flashy, but you get the idea.

BTW, the Freddie Kruger "long arm" alley scene can be accomplished
with fishing poles. Believe it or not this is how they actually did
it in the movie. Wes Craven gives away all the secrets in the DVD
commentary.

Anybody who wants to invest in eight feet of spandex can recreate the
wall melt-thru scene (imitated by David Copperfield in his Walk thru
the Great Wall of China special, circa 1990).

You could accomplish the same sparking effect with a chain saw that is
turned OFF. First tape the chain saw for audio effect, and play that
during the apparent demonstration. For the sparking effect connect
the positive terminal to the blade and the negative to the metal sheet
(wall, etc.).

For obvious reasons don't use a gasoline powered chainsaw for this
effect. Sparks and gas fumes may give you some real flash!

doors for trick or treat?   all i can figure is     that more
stores
and churches are letting children have candy there   so no kids hardly
come up at houses

added my   idea too to make it a double whammy close up illusion
imthankful   that magician bob scofield , and magician fred stoll flo
stols husband   and kids around my nighbor hood and also school
libarian mis queemen   showed me how to do all theses cool illusions
to learn how to add my ideas to theeses cool illusions and even the
magicians and illusionist on the inter net     have taught me  
more ideas   to make my mind think   of more then one way of doing
illusions :)

those haunted houses and fun houses     and train rides ideas and
even the shows there where in themed of haollow wheen     songs from
60s ans 50s and todays mixed in called   monster stomp my favorite
part was the black art light idea   with sklettons   moving around
hehehe and the middle skelton was   shaking hehehe his cool fat bellly
  cool:)
every one in the park laughed
and after they introduced in person   the lights got dark again and
lol hehe the fat skletton appeard again hehehehe   that made everyone
think hmm   well i thought i knew who it was the guy is the only one
with the fat tum tum   but now? hmm skeeton pop up and done it again

  secret to black art light   dead black against dead black   is
absent of shadow with the right lighting scheme :)   using   black
lights its a purple light or purple floresent lights,
    any thing dark is invisible to the human eye and any thing
thats bright colors stand out like a nion light :) even the magic show
we went to for the finale   called mind over matter the magician
escape artist
arron ratataz   uses black light idea to make him slowly appear. first
you hear his voice onstage cause you dont see him   his invisible then
white gloves appear andthen white pants and white tux shirt   then he
takes of white gloves then he is have there he just neeeds to make his
face appear   and he takes and coverhas face with both his hands  
and whoshh   now in a slip secound as he moves has hands away you see
his whole face :)
  mean while through out this idea a very jaws / indainia jones song
is playing as he slowly appears :) then he intruduces his self   then
does   spirit cabinet illusion
just like how david copperfield done   but with his own added ideas to
the neat illusion:)
ps the illusionist who invent this illusion is willard and lady fransise
and years latter magicians imporved upon this illusion.   thats what
we magicians and illusionist do take it up a notch as david copperfield
would say:)
the secret is in the way hes being tied up in   ropes or lady with
scarves
it looks tight but its not really tight so they them selfs ring the bell
throw sheets of paper over top the cabinet   then assistans hurrry to
drop curtin fast   to show the magician still all tied up:)
but the new idea is to add holllow bevel basses made out of black
spandex to hid   other people in the table or table base to produce
  folks out of now where and then vanish folks in a puff of smoke
and for the finale   arron rataze   in rembrance of eric wise  
who you know as harry houdini
he showed video fooatge of harry houdin doing very dangerious escapes
from box under water   to stright jacket escape hanngin up side down
from a crane     and it was neat how he   put that footage of
houdini and himself in synk while he was hoisted in mid air up sidedown
also while in streight jacket   he mention that houdini eascape from
the streight jaket is 2 minutes and 10 secounds     so in remberance
of houdini he going to try and beat houdini   record. ps if im correct
he beat houdini record   it ws very close thoug phew he almost didnt
  cause even though he got the nect part done he still had to work on
the bunggles in the back   plus ontop of this he lost his footing on
the bar rod he had his both feet on so hes dangling by one foot   woa
hes was exzusted but he done it:)
ps extra   for years i see in parks   empty crates   and thought
you know if you could uses theses in illusions to make appearnces and
vanishes ideas.
and even saturday at nite time while waiting for the train ride i said
to andy story   whos tommy storys 14 year old nefu   i said to andy
    you see its good to scre folks in hunted houses   but it would
be a neat idea its perfect see theesesempty crates andy :) somone cold
hide in theses crates   and as the loong line   of folks keeps
moving to get on scaryy train ride     somone one could opn
secretdoor   in box crate and reach out and go BOO!
  and andy story said yeah that would work i agree bill :) then he
taped on boxes every where   no one poped up   then a few minutes
later when we are just a few feet away i hear a SCREAM AAAAA   a girl
screamed the a door     GOES   ca blam IT SHUTS THEN I SAID to
andy story   yes i was rite i was rite on track :) and then andy said
i knew it i knew it theres under ground secret tunnels all in parks :)
  and then i said yeah andy   and from magicians i talked to  
said that when david copperfield used to perform his illusion shows in
bush gardens   he left all this illusion traps for them to use:) then
andy said wow cool   he did wow:) AND I SAID YEP andy DC allways done
his illusion shows at bush gardens in the 70s and 80s then later on
crysler hall in norfolk ,virginia took dc on   and the rest as we say
is history :) now just about every where   if crysler halls not booked
up   they let magician david copperfield do his illusions on stage
there:)

How are you doing? Have you been figuring out more of Mr. Copperfield's
illusions? Thanks for sharing so many secrets with me. That was an
interesting article you sent me regarding Halloween. I find it
interesting because it sounds as if the writer is lamenting the way
Halloween is commercialized and celebrated by adults more than children
– the way it used to be back in the "good ol' days." Curious, don't
you think, that Halloween is now be used as an excuse for adults to
throw parties and to participate in multiple activities of varying (and
increasing) sinfulness. Not like it "used to be." Or is it? Was not
Halloween originally begun by the witches and followers of Satan to
counter the effects of the celebration on the following day, All Saints
Day, which is on November 1? All Saints' Day was considered a holy day,
or a "hallowed" day. In the ongoing struggle of spiritual warfare, the
night (or evening) before All Saints Day was celebrated as witches
practiced their Satanic rituals in an effort to defy God and the
practice of Christian worship the following day. In days of great
superstition, people feared the witchcraft and demons and concocted ways
of protecting themselves from the threat. In time, do to an
"enlightening" of western thinking, superstitions have faded away but
some of the old practices remain as "fun" activities – wearing scary
masks, carving jack-o-lanterns, trick-or-treating. Such activities are
considered innocent and fun for children. Never mind their Satanic
origins. Now we are supposed to be concerned with the further evolution
of this "holiday"?
I suggest that it is not strange (or regrettable) that this particular
day is "no longer for children." It never was. It was merely a deception
of Satan that made it become a fun, innocent celebration of himself.
Now, the prince of this present world is glorifying himself by deceiving
foolish adults into using the day as an excuse to practice more frequent
and more perverse activity.
I, personally, don't care for any celebration of Halloween. We, as
Christians, should be careful that we don't treat this Satanic
celebration lightly. Yes, we can be good neighbors and give treats to
the children that come begging at our door, and we can even use the
opportunity to give tracts and turn the tables on Satan by being a
witness to all those who come to our door. (When else can we go
soul-winning to so many people knocking on our door, rather than going
door-to-door to speak to them.) But we must be careful that we don't
fall into the "innocence" of the season by putting up Halloween
decorations, attending Halloween parties, or dressing up in scary
costumes. Each of us, of course, must do what God shows us is right; I
am not condemning those who may participate in activities that I don't.
What is wrong for me to do, may be perfectly fine for someone else to
do. But I think we should strongly consider what message we are sending
our children and those all around us who are lost. What message, for
example, is sent when we dress our children up in disguises and take
them begging for candy? Or, what is the difference between a typical
Halloween party and a "Harvest" party (frequently sponsored by Christian
church groups)? They both are fun, innocent, organized activities for
children with games, candy, costumes. If it is wrong for children to go
to one, why does a simple name change make the other fine? Again, I am
only raising questions that I think should be carefully considered; I
am, by no means, attempting to judge or to reprove anyone.
Anyway, I thought the Halloween article was quite interesting. Did you
know that Halloween is now considered the second biggest holiday
celebrated in the U.S? I find that remarkable for a couple of reasons.
For one, it almost seems like a definite spiritual battle as Satan tries
to make his day bigger and more important than the most celebrated day,
Christmas. Secondly, since when is Halloween a holiday? "Holiday" is
derived from "holy day." Perhaps someone could explain what is holy
about Halloween. Even its origins are the very antithesis of holiness.
Just something to think about.
We are doing well. I have found a couple of Christian friends. They are
EOD guys from San Diego: Curtis and Andy. I thanked God for bringing us
together. I was having a little of a rough week, then I found out these
two guys were Christians and we had a great, uplifting conversation. We
each shared some of our struggles (which were actually pretty common
between us.)
    I was able to share some of what I have learned recently in
the books I have been reading. I offered to let them read the books,
which they readily and eagerly accepted. I look forward to developing a
strong relationship with these guys and growing in the Lord together
with them.
