hi,
in mint 12 it was possible to "get the driver", so my usb-tv could be activated.
here now, in mint 14, this chance has disappeared, as it seems.
Am I right ?
Cheers,
Michel

Could you explain what you mean by "get the driver"?

> here now

Yesterday all your troubles seemed to far away, and
now you are confronted with the cold reality of
the "here now".

> in mint 14, this chance has disappeared

Chance as in probability?

> as it seems.

If it only seems then you need to remember that appearances
can be deceptive.

< Am I right ?

Of course you are -- the customer is always right by definition.

Maybe it would help if you were to state the make and model
of your usb-tv. How large is the screen on your usb-tv by the way?

the term was in the French language under the menue "Hardware"
-> pilotes supplémentaieres (additional drivers?)
Upon this feature a driver for this TV stick was installed when I was trying to use the stick @ first time.
But in fact, it doesn't matter any more.
Just was courious about.

More than likely it was downloading not the actual driver per se,
but the proprietary firmware to activate the frontend tuner.

I would explain more, but from your comment below, there
is obviously no point.

Well if you do not want to get the USB TV stick working under Mint 14,
it is best not to post "curiousity" questions lacking purpose which do not
"matter any more".
